Latonia to Paris

From Latonia (MP 3.9), where there is a crossover, a wye on the west side (10 mph on the north leg, 15 mph on the south leg) with the single track line to Louisville, the location of the erstwhile flat crossings with the line from the L&N Bridge (and NX Tower) to Louisville, the single track line from NX Cabin trailing in on the east side, a grade crossing with Grant Court, and crossovers (15 mph on the crossovers), the line heads just east of due south, Double Track, CTC on Track 1, current-of-traffic (Rule D-251) on Track 2, maximum speed 20 mph, past a grade crossing at Southern Avenue, a grade crossing at E 39th Street, a grade crossing at E 40th Street, two more grade crossings, a bridge over an inlet, crossovers at Rosedale (MP 5.2), where both tracks become CTC operated, a gradual turn southeast, with DeCoursey Yard on the west side of the line, crossovers at DeCoursey (MP 7.6), where there is shop for Progress Railcar on the west side.

There are crossovers at Spring Lake (MP 9.9), where the maximum speed rises to 60 mph for intermodal trains and 50 mph for freight trains, but with local restriction to 25 mph between MP 9.9 and MP 12.0, a turn to the southwest, the end of Yard Limits at MP 12.0, a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 12.0 and MP 13.4, as the line turns just south of due east, south through Grants Tunnel, west and then just west of due south, after which full line speed prevail, crossovers at Ryland (MP 14.4), where the line turns just east of due south, and then south, the start of single track at Visalia (MP 16.7), a turn just west of due south, a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 20.2 and MP 25.2, Kenton, a turn south, and Morning View.

The line turns east, with a speed restriction to 35 mph between MP 25.2 and MP 27.6, south, east again, with a speed restriction to 40 mph between MP 27.6 and MP 30.1, south to Demossville, east to Butler (MP29.4), where tehre is a north-facing 5-car spur, south, southeast, south with a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 30.1 and MP 37.0, past the resumption of Two Main Tracks at Lynn (MP 31.2), east past the start of single track at Catawba (MP 36.1) and a detector at "Catawba" (MP 36.3), south, west, and south again, with a speed restriction to 40 mph between MP 37.0 and MP 43.4, past Falmouth (MP 40.6), where there is a yard, and west, southwest, south and southwest again, with a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 43.4 and MP 45.5, after which full line speed prevail past the resumption of Two Main Tracks at Uma (MP 46.1) and Morgan (MP 47.4), where there is a 9-car north-facing spur.

There is a turn to the south, with a speed restriction to 40 mph between MP 47.5 and MP 55.0, a turn south-southwest, a turn just east of due south past Boyd, a turn southwest past Berry (MP 54.2), where there is a 4-car north-facing spur, a turn southeast and then south-southeast, with a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 55.0 and MP 58.9, past the start of single track at Robinson (MP 56.6), a turn south-southwest, then curvily southeast and finally south, with a speed restriction to 40 mph between MP 58.9 and MP 59.6, after which full line speeds prevail, a detector at "Poindexter" (MP 62.1), a turn southwest, then just west of due south, a turn east and then south, with a speed restriction to 40 mph between MP 63.8 and MP 65.5, past Cynthiana (MP 66.3), where there is a yard and a dual-ended 23-car spur at MP 67.1, with a speed restriction to 35 mph between MP 65.5 and MP 66.7 and a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 66.7 and MP 69.5. 

Two Main Tracks resume at Licking (MP 68.1), as the line turns south-southwest to Lair, south-southeast with a speed restriction to 35 mph between MP 69.5 and MP 69.6, south, with a speed restriction to 45 mph between MP 69.9 and MP 79.5, past the start of single track at Oliver (MP 71.8) and Shawhan, southwest to Kiserton, just east of due south and then curvily south-southeast past the start of Yard Limits at MP 78.9, a speed restriction to 30 mph between MP 79.5 and MP 80.7 as the line turns southwest, with the line from Maysville now operated by the Transkentucky Transportation Railroad and the Kentucky Central trailing in from the northeast, a speed restriction to 35 mph between MP 80.7 and MP 81.5, and the resumption of Two Main Tracks at Paris MP 80.8), where there is a yard the erstwhile Frankfort & Cincinnati Railroad once headed west and an L&N branch to  Lexington southwest as the line to Winchester turns south.
