South Bay Junction to Readville

From the crossovers at South Bay (MP 227.0), where there is a tower, the yards end, and the former New Haven line to Braintree and beyond (out-of-service, in 1995) departs on the east side, the Dorchester Branch turns south-southwest, Two Main Tracks, CTC, maximum speed 60 mph for passenger trains and 30 mph for freights, past the passenger station at Uphams Corner (MP 225.8) and the Columbia Road bridge (MP 225.2), where there is a 30 mph speed restriction, turning south, and then southwest, past the passenger station at Morton Street (MP 223.0), jthe passenger station at Fairmount (MP 220.5), crossovers at Dana (MP 219.5), the junction at Hill (MP 229.1), where the Franklin Branch diverges, on the north side, from the single track connector (30 mph on the connector) to the Providence main line, and Transfer (MP 218.5), where that connector trails into the east side of the Providence Main Line.
