From the wye on the east side at 59th Street with the connector east to 58th Street on the PRR main line between Chicago and Fort Wayne, the Panhandle line heads south, double track, current-of-traffic, manual block, maximum speed 30 mph, with the B&OCT on its west side, past the 59th Street Yard Office (MP 304.4), in the yard on the east side of the main line, a bridge over 64th Street, the flat crossings with the Belt Railway and the Wabash at Belt Crossing (MP 302.3), a bridge over 79th Street, a turn south-southeast, with a B&OCT spur still on the west side, the flat crossing (20 mph on the crossing) with the B&OCT, and junction with the Rock Island branch, at Beverly Junction (MP 300.2), the angled flat crossing (20 mph on the crossing) with the Rock Island branch at Rock Island Crossing (MP 300.1), the angled flat crossing with the Rock Island main line at Washington Heights (MP 298.5), spurs on the west side with the Chicago West Pulmman, the flat crossing (20 mph on the crossing) with the overhead electrified Illinois Central Blue Island Branch at West Pullman (MP 296.1), and the flat crossing with the B&O Chicago Terminal underneath the bridge carrying the Illinois Central lines overhead at Riverdale (MP 294.2), and the flat crossings with the north-south Chicago & Western Indiana and east-west Indiana Harbor Belt, and their southeast quadrant connector, at Dolton Junction (MP 293.4).
