67th Street to South Chicago

Just south of 67th Street (MP 8.33). and a bridge over 67th Street, are crossovers and a junction where the Kensington line (the outer two tracks) continues ahead while the South Chicago branch (the inner two tracks) descends, passes beneath the formation, and curves away to the east, past a grade crossing over an east-west street, the northbound signal for the junction, a grade crossing over a north-south street, a southbound signal, a grade crossing over an east-west street, and a grade crossing over a north-south street. The south leg of a wye once trailed in on the south side before the double track line heading east passes 71st Street alongside to the south, the station (center island with asphalt surface) at Stony Island (MP 9.10), a grade crossing over Stony Island Avenue at the east end of the station, three grade crossings, a grade crossing over Euclid Avenue, the station (center island with asphalt surface) at Bryn Mawr (MP 9.66), a grade crossing over Jeffery Boulevard at the east end of the station, and two more grade crossings.

The line curves south-southeast past a grade crossing over a north-south street (Yates, on the curve), with a street that runs alongside to the east and west of the line, the station (center island with asphalt surface) at South Shore (MP 10.28), grade crossings at 73rd Street and 74th Street, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing at 75th Street, the station (wooden center island) at Windsor Park (MP 10.88), a grade crossings at 76th Street, 77th Street, and 78th Street, and the station (wooden island) at 79th Street (MP 11.49), and then south, with Exchange Street running on both sides, past grade crossings at 79th Street, 80th Street, 81st Street, and 82nd Street, crossovers, a grade crossing at 83rd Street, the station (asphalt island) at 83rd Street (MP 11.97), and a grade crossing over an east-west street, jogging south-southeast where a B&OCT line once crossed from southeast to northwest (with the right-of-way still extant in 2006),with no street alongside, past the station (asphalt island) at 87th Street (MP 12.51), and continuing south past two grade crossings over east-west streets, signals at MP 12.9, a grade crossing over an east-west street, crossovers, and a grade crossing over an east-west street to the end of the line at the station (asphalt island with stub end to the south) at 91st Street–South Chicago (MP 13.04).
