Global 1 Yard to Kedzie

From the connections to the east (former CB&Q and St. Charles Air Line) at the east end of Global 1 East Yard at Canal Street, the line heads west through Global I East (the former B&O Robey Street Yard), turning just north of due west, past Global 1 West (the former C&NW Wood Street Yard), becoming Two Main Tracks, CTC, maximum speed 20 mph (but local speed restriction to 10 mph), at MP 2.3, past crossovers, and curving around to the north on the north leg of a wye, with connections south (15 mph on the connections) to the Chicago Junction via the south leg of the wye, past a crossover, to Ogden Junction (MP 1.9), end of the speed restriction, where there is a connections with the former B&OCT on the west leg of the wye and curving west, and former crossings with the erstwhile PRR Panhandle Line, a double-track stub of which trails in on the west side at this point.

There is a bridge over the CTA Blue Line and over the former route of the erstwhile Chicago, Aurora & Elgin, a bridge carrying the CTA Green Line overhead , the south apex of a wye at Rockwell Junction (MP 0.7), where the single track east leg turns east to Tower A2 and Western Avenue, where the line curves west on the two-track west leg of the wye to the junctions (one for each track) with the former C&NW West line at Kedzie (MP 0.0).
