Gresham to Blue Island (Branch)

From the Metra station (asphalt island, facilities below) at Gresham (MP 9.8), passing a bridge over an east-west street, signals and crossovers, and the double-track junction between the main and branch (Beverly) lines, the double-track Beverly Line turns due west, passing a bridge over a north-south street and a bridge over an east-west street on the curve, with the curve ending where the erstwhile  double-track B&OCT line from the east once trailed in (so that B&O and C&O trains from the east ran towards Chicago headed in the same direction as Rock Island trains leaving Chicago), a bridge over a street west of the curve, a grade crossing (Bach?), signals, a grade crossing (Lathrop), a grade crossing over a north-south street at the east end of the Metra station (two side platforms, depot to the south) at Brainerd (MP 10.6), two grade crossings over north-south streets, and signals, and then turns south at Beverly, , past the location where the erstwhile B&OCT double track line left on the northwest side, curving around to run  north parallel to the erstwhile PRR Panhandle line, crossing the former route of the erstwhile PRR Panhandle line and passing a grade crossings over an east-west street, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (two side platforms) at 91st Street (MP 11.3), a grade crossing, the Metra station (two side platforms) at 95th Street (MP 11.7), a grade crossing, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (platform on the west side only, two tracks) at 99th Street (MP 12.3), where there is a street on the east side, two grade crossings, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (two side platforms, depot to the west) at 103rd Street (MP 12.8), a grade crossing, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (two side platforms, depot to the west) at 107th Street (MP 13.3), a street alongside to the east, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (two side platforms, depot to the west) at 111th Street (MP 13.8), a grade crossing at the south end of that station, a grade crossing, the Metra station (two asphalt side platforms, depot to the west) at 115th Street (MP 14.3), a grade crossing at the south end of the station, a grade crossing at the north end of the Metra station (two asphalt side platforms) at 119th Street (MP 14.8), a grade crossing over a north-south street, a grade crossing over an east-west street, the Metra station (west side platform only, but two tracks) at 123rd Street (MP 15.2), a dirt road grade crossing, and a Metra facility on the east side of the line.

A connector to Burr Oak yard on the Metra Joliet Line departs on the east side at CP 15.6 (MP 15.6), and the branch passes yard tracks on the east side, a road bridge overhead, the Metra station (west side platform) at Prairie Street (MP 15.8), before the line reaches the south end of Burr Oak Yard (yard tracks on the east side of the branch, between the two lines), where the main line reappears on the east side, CP Vermont Street (MP 16.4), and the grade crossing at Vermont Street, to the Metra station at Blue Island Vermont Street (MP 16.5), platforms on the east side of the branch and the west side of the main line, brick depot between them, and trails back into the Joliet main line at the south end of the station.
