Leithton to Antioch

From the flat crossing, and connectors in the southwest and northwest quadrants, with the EJ&E at Leithton  (MP 38.0, the single track CN (former Wisconsin Central) line heads just west of due north, Two Main Tracks, CTC, with overall speed limit 50 mph, past extra track on the west side, a grade crossing with an east-west street, a wooded area, two extra tracks to the east, crossovers, a spur to industry on the east side, the former location of a wye on the east side with the erstwhile North Shore line, a bridge over an east-west street, the Metra station at Mundelein (MP 40.0), with two side platforms, brick depot and parking to the west, where the line turns north, a grade crossing, with an east-west street, a spur trailing in on the west side, a grade crossing with an east-west street, signals at Lomond, a divided street alongside to the east, a bridge over an angled divided street, and a grade crossing with an east-west street, a spur on the west side, and the end of Two Main Tracks at Paterson.

There is a Metra station at Prairie Crossing, with platform and 'depot" to the east, where the line turns north-northwest, two spurs on the east side, a bridge over a culvert, signals and the flat crossing with the Metra Fox Lake Line at Soo Crossing (MP 44.0), two-four spurs on the west side for a cement plant with a critter, the resumption of Two Main Tracks, a grade crossing with an angled street, detectors at MP 44.6, SR 63 alongside to the east, a grade crossing with Center Street, a grade crossing with Lake Street, a foot crossing, the end of Two Main Tracks at Ram, a grade crossing with Washington Street, the Metra station at Grays Lake (MP 45.5), with brick platform and brick depot to the west, SR 63 alongside to the east, and three grade crossings with east-west streets.

Two Main Tracks resume again just south of the Metra station at Round Lake Beach, with two side platforms, brick depot and parking lot to the west, a park to the west, a grade crossing with Monaville Road, Rollins, a grade crossing with an east-west street, a spur on the east side, the Metra station at Lake Villa (MP 51.0), with two side platforms and wooden depot to the west, where the line turns north, a grade crossing with an east-west street just north of the station, extra track to the west, a lake on the west side, Loon Lake, an angled road bridge overhead, a grade crossing with an east-west street, a spur on the east side trailing in, a grade crossing with Grass Lake Road, signals and crossovers, a grade crossing with an east-west street, a detector at MP 54.3, a dirt road grade crossing, a grade crossing with Grimm Road, a grade crossing with an east-west street, a bridge over a stream, a bridge over a street, and Antioch (MP 55.3), where Metra service ends, with two side platforms and a brick depot to the west, signals and crossovers at the north end of the station, a grade crossing, and a Metra yard on the east side, north of the grade crossing, as the CN line continues north.
