Tower B17 to Spaulding

At Tower B17, at the west end of the yard (MP 17.0), in the vee of the intersection on the north side,  there are crossovers and extra track on the north side, and a two-track freight line curves away north to join the C&NW freight line that had bridged overhead, and use that line to connect to the CP line to Milwaukee, far to the north at Tower A20, while the main line continues west-northwest, Two Main Tracks, CTC, with overall speed limit 70 mph for passenger trains and 40 mph for others, past a grade crossing with a north-south street, west-facing signals (at Tower B17), the Metra station with two side platforms at Bensenville (MP 17.2), with a grade crossing with a north-south street within the platforms and a depot on the south side, a grade crossing with a north-south street at the west end of the platforms, a grade crossing with a north-south street, a road bridge overhead, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing with a north-south street, and the Metra station at Wood Dale (MP 19.1), with two side platforms, and shelter and parking lot on the south side.

There is an acute-angled grade crossing with an east-west street at the west end of the platforms at Wood Dale, a bridge over a river, extra track serving and industry on the north side, a golf course on the north side, a wood products facility on the south side, with track trailing in, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing with a north-south street, MP 20.5, a grade crossing (Walnut Avenue) at the east end of the two side platforms at the Metra station at Itasca (MP 21.0), with depot on the south side and parking lot to the far southwest, a line trailing in from the Itasca Industrial Park on the north side, crossovers, a grade crossing over a north-south street, MP 21.5, two extra tracks on the south side, a bridge over I-290, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing with a north-south street, and the Metra station at Medinah (MP 23.0), with two side platforms, depot on the south side, parking on the north side, and a grade crossing with a north-south street within the platforms.

The Metra station at Roselle (MP 23.9) also has two side platforms, and a depot on the south side, with parking lots both north and south, and is followed by west-facing signals, a through-girder bridge over a north-south street, three grade-crossings over north-south streets, a line trailing in from the Schaumburg Industrial Park on the north side of the line, an air strip on the north side, extra track on the south side, signals and crossovers, the line turns west, a grade crossing, "bagged" signals at MP 26.5, a Metra station at Schaumburg (MP 26.5), with two side platforms, depot to the south, shelter to the north, and parking lots on both sides, a spur departing on the south side, a road bridge overhead, the spur curves away to the south, dual road bridges overhead (Elgin-O-Hare Expressway), Intermediate Signals, bridges over two divided streets that intersect just north of the line,, with the second bridge at the east end of the two side platforms at the Metra station (two side platforms, depot to the south, parking both north and south, street alongside to the north) at Hanover Park (MP 28.4), where the line turns west-northwest again.

There are Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing with a north-south street, some industrial spurs on the north side of the line (trailing in separately from the northeast and north), a new station under construction in 5/07, with depot on the south side of the line, immediately east of a grade crossing with a north-south street, which is immediately east of the Metra station at Bartlett (MP 30.1), which has two side platforms, a wooden depot to the south, and inadequate platforms and parking, a grade crossing west of the current platforms, a street alongside to the south, MP 30.5, Intermediate Signals, MP 31, a road bridge overhead, a grade crossing with an east-west street, out in the countryside, the (southeast) connector departs on the southwest side, a grade crossing with an east-west street, and the flat crossing with the single track EJ&E at Spaulding (MP 32.7), with connectors in the southeast (above) and southwest quadrants.
