Saginaw to Quanah

From Saginaw (MP 9.1), where the former Rock Island (now UP) turns north-northwest and makes a flat crossing with the former Santa Fe, which continues north and makes a flat crossing with the former Fort Worth & Denver with a connector in the northeast quadrant, with some very large grain elevators alongside the lines on the north side, to the east of the flat crossings, the former FW&D continues north-northwest, with the former RI alongside to its southwest, Two Main Tracks, ABS and then CTC, with speed limit 20 mph rising to 30 mph, past CP 11 (MP 11.0), where a connector from the former Santa Fe (permitting access to/from Alliance Yard as well as to/from Fort Worth on the former Santa Fe line) trails in on the east side, becoming single track, ABS, Track Warrant Control, past a spur trailing in from industry on the east side, a grade crossing, two extra tracks on the east side, a street alongside to the west, and a dirt road grade crossing, and turning north, past a spur trailing in from an industry to the east, and a spur trailing in from a lumber yard to the east, north-northwest, past three grade crossings, and then north-northeast, leaving the former RI behind, past a small craft airport to the east and then dual road bridges overhead, to the 7,534 ft. west side siding at Avondale (MP 19.0), where the speed limit has risen to 50 mph, with a dirt road alongside to the west and two dirt track grade crossings within the siding.

The line turns north, , north-northwest, past a road alongside to the west, dual road bridges overhead, and extra track on the west side, a detector at MP 23.8 and Rhome (MP 24.x), where there is a 55 mph speed restriction as it turns just east of due north, and then north-northwest, north, northwest and curvily north-northwest again past two grade crossings, a divided road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, two dirt track grade crossings, the 7,161 ft. west side siding at Herman (MP 34.6), where the speed limit is back to 60 mph, Intermediate Signals, two grade crossings, the 6,124 ft. east side siding at Decatur (MP 40.3), where there is a 50 mph speed restriction, with a grade crossing within the siding, summit of a descent to Alvord, a bridge over a road, a grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, Cowan, three grade crossings, a detector at MP 47.5, where there is a 45 mph speed restriction for the two sharp curves in the vicinity, Intermediate Signals at MP 48.x, a bridge over a stream below, and a dirt track grade crossing.

There is a 7,077 ft. east side siding at Alvord (MP 50.8), where the speed limit is back to 60 mph, a dirt track grade crossing, a dirt road grade crossing, a highway alongside to the west, two dirt track grade crossings, a grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, a grade crossing, extra track on the west side at Sunset (MP 59.6), two dirt track grade crossings, the 9,500 ft. west side siding at Fruitland (MP 63.8), a grade crossing, two dirt track grade crossings, Intermediate Signals, a bridge over a road, a dirt road alongside to the west, a bridge over a road, Bowie (MP 68.5), where a 30 mph speed restriction starts, past extra track on the west side, a spur on the west side, two grade crossings in town, a dirt road to the west, and the angled flat crossing with the single track former Rock Island (now UP) at UP Xing (MP 69.2), after which the speed limit reverts to 60 mph.

The line turns northwest, past a bridge over a road, a bridge over a dirt road, Intermediate Signals, two dirt track grade crossings, a detector at MP 74.8, a dirt track grade crossing, the 6,366 ft. west side siding at Bellevue (MP 79.1), with a street alongside to the west, where the line turns north-northwest again, a divided highway (US 287) to the west, two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over an arroyo, a dirt track grade crossing, the 6,969 ft. east side siding at Dickworsham (MP 90.2), where the line turns northwest again, with a dirt track grade crossing, Horton Angus Road alongside to the west, and then US 287 alongside to the west again, all within the siding, Intermediate Signals, a bridge over a stream, a detector at MP 94.3, and two grade crossings.

Both an erstwhile Southwestern Railway line and an erstwhile MKT line once crossed on the flat at Henrietta (MP 96.0), where there is extra track on the north side and a 55 mph speed restriction, with that MKT line once running alongside to the south as far as Wichita Falls, past a dirt track grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, a dirt road grade crossing, a road alongside to the northeast, and then US 287 alongside to the northeast, Jolly (MP 105.5), where the speed limit is 60 mph again, Raymond, a grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, and the 22,372 ft. separated south-side siding at Rhea (MP 110.0), with a road bridge overhead, a spur heading away into a facility on the north side, a grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, a grade crossing, a pond on the south side, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, a bridge over a road, a street alongside to the north, and the separated track returning, all within the siding.

The former junction with the erstwhile Wichita Valley, trails in on the north side at Wichita Falls (MP 114.1), where a 40 mph speed restriction through Wichita Falls starts, past a through girder bridges over a river, one track on the north side at the east end of Oklahoma Yard, dual road bridges overhead, two tracks on the south side and six tracks to the north, a spur of the former WV on the south side of the yard, stuffed-and-mounted Burlington (FW&D) 2-8-0 30, with RPO, Baggage Car, Troop Sleeper, and BN Caboose, on the south side, a grade crossing, extra track on the south side, two spurs on the south side, trailing in, west of the yard, a street alongside to the south, two parallel through truss bridges over the Wichita River, a bridge over a street, West Wichita (MP 115.0), where Two Main Tracks, CTC, start, a junction with the single track Wichita Tillman & Jackson (former MKT), heading away north on the north side, a road bridge overhead, Sunshine Yard (three extra tracks on the south side), a road alongside to the north, Orient (MP 116.1), where single track, CTC, resumes, a spur heading away on the south side, and Valley Junction (MP 116.4), where the speed limit is back to 60 mph, there are dual road bridges overhead, and a single track spur to Howard turns away on the south side.

Now heading just north of due west, the line passes a dirt road alongside to the south, a dirt road grade crossing, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 121.7, US 287 alongside to the north, a dirt road grade crossing, the 6,524 ft. north side siding at Iowa Park (MP 124.3), three grade crossings in town within the siding, a grade crossing, a spur to silos on the north side, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, Tomburnett, US 287 alongside to the north, and a grade crossing, turning west-northwest past the 6,838 ft. north side siding at Fowlkes (MP 135.9), a dirt track grade crossing, a dirt road grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing in town, Electra (MP 140.7), with an old wooden depot on the north side, a grade crossing in town, a detector at MP 143.6, extra track on the north side, a dirt road grade crossing, the 6,273 ft. south side siding at Harrold (MP 148.1), with a shorter 'siding' on the north side, two bridges over drainage, two dirt road grade crossings, a spur at Oklaunion (MP 154.1), dual road bridges overhead, and extra track on the south side.

There is a spur trailing in on the south side at West Texas Utilities (MP 155.5), south to the West Texas Utilities Oklaunion Power Plant (Oklahoma is across the Red River, just five miles to the north at this point), US 287 now on the south side, CP 1562 (MP 156.2), a dirt track grade crossing at the detector at MP 158.4, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a dirt road grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, three spurs on the south side at Vernon Grain (MP 160.0), which has a critter, four extra tracks on the south side, a grade crossing with SR 283, a dirt road grade crossing, the 10,493 ft. north side siding at Vernon (MP 163.3), where an erstwhile Frisco line once trailed in from the northeast, with extra track on the north side, four extra tracks on the south side, a dirt track grade crossing, and a bridge over a stream, within the siding.

Dual road bridges overhead take US 287 back to the north side again, past a bridge over a river, Intermediate Signals at MP 166.8, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a dirt track grade crossing, two grade crossings, Intermediate Signals at ~ MP 173.x, Tolbert, where the line turns west, dual road bridges overhead taking US 287 back to the south side, a jog north and then west again, a detector at MP 175.5, the 9,030 ft. north side siding at Chillicothe (MP 178.7), where there was once a flat crossing with the erstwhile Kansas City, Mexico & Orient and the line turns just north of due west, with a grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, a spur to south-side silos, a spur to north-side silos, a grade crossing, and a spur to north-side silos away from the track (with a west-facing leg as well), all within the siding, two bridges over stream, Intermediate Signals, Evans, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 184.5, Intermediate Signals, a cutting, two dirt road grade crossings, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, the start of 2MT at CP 1898 (MP 189.8), the wye junction with the former Frisco on the north side at Quanah (MP 192.1), with extra track on the south side, a dirt road grade crossing at Stamp Street and a grade crossing at Main Street. The old Quanah, Acme & Pacific wooden HQ is now the town's museum, south of the track.
