Fort Worth (Tower 60) to Carrollton

From the flat crossing with the BNSF (former Santa Fe) at Tower 60 (MP 6.5), which is CTC-controlled by the BNSF, the former Cotton Belt line heads north-northeast, single track, Restricted Limits, speed limit 20 mph, past the flat crossing with the UP (former Rock Island) at UP Crossing (MP 6.8), with a double track southeast quadrant connector for UP train heading to or from the Choctaw sub., and the former flat crossing, now replaced by operations on the former Santa Fe, with the BNSF (former Fort Worth & Denver) at BNSF Crossing (MP 6.9), with a new connection to the former FW&D alignment on the north side of the FWWR, three grade crossings, the easternmost of which is Schwartz Street, a spur trailing in on the north side, a bridge over drainage, and dual road bridges overhead, and turning just north of due east past a connection to the former FW&D on the north side, the west end of the BNSF North yard, on the north side, a grade crossing, the BNSF line curving away to the north, and the yard on the south side at Hodge (MP 8.0), with a wye on its south side with a three to four track locomotive depot at the west end of the yard, a connector to the UP Choctaw sub. at its Hodge, dual road bridges overhead, and six yard tracks near the east end.

There is a spur on the south side at Coors Lead (MP 8.7), Dillards (MP 9.9), a south side east-facing spur at Chemical (MP 9.9), a spur at Keebler (MP 10.2), a connector north to the UP Choctaw sub. departing to the north (used by UP trains from that connector at UP crossing), a Control Point at CPT 750 (a location on the UP Choctaw sub. near its Hodge), Sylvania Avenue, a grade crossing with the eponymous street, two bridges over drainage, a spur trailing in on the north side, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing at Oldentown Road,  the flat crossing with the UP (former MKT) at Choctaw Sub (MP 10.4), also known as Fort Worth & Western Junction (on the UP), a spur at Liberty Carton (MP 11.3), a turn east-northeast and back to just north of east again, past three grade crossings, a bridge over a divided road, housing on both sides, a bridge over a river, MP 14, and May.

The line bridges over an "interstate", and passes large houses to the north, a grade crossing at MP 14.9, a bike path named Cottonbelt Trail to the south, a grade crossing with a wide street, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a spur at Hope Lumber (MP 15.7), a spur at Bates (MP 15.8), a grade crossing with a divided highway, a bridge over drainage, and a spur on the south side, trailing in, at Smithfield Team (MP 16.1), a grade crossing, a grade crossing with an angled street, a bridge over drainage, a street alongside to the south, a grade crossing with Eden Street in Richland Hills, the bike path alongside to the south again, a grade crossing with a wide street, a bridge over a river, and a road alongside to the north.

The single track line continues east-northeast past Bransford, a grade crossing with Bransford Road, two grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing with Brinklaw Avenue, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing with Mustang Street, a grade crossing, an embankment, a grade crossing with Kimball Drive, two grade crossings, and dual road bridges overhead (SR 114), turning just north of due east past a bridge over drainage, a street alongside to the south, a grade crossing, a bridge over a road, and MP 24, to Grapevine (MP 24.0), where there is a siding on the south side, the FWWR has its locomotive facilities on the south side, with a turntable, a stuffed-and-mounted ex-T&NO 2-8-2, 771, east of the turntable, grain silos on the north side, a relocated signal tower on the south side, a grade crossing with Main Street, and the wooden passenger depot on the north side.

There is a grade crossing, a bridge over a divided street, dual road bridges overhead, a west-facing junction with track heading south to DFW Airport, to be used for a commuter line from Fort Worth to DFW, dual road bridges overhead, a grade crossing with divided Royal Street, a spur at TST Impresso (MP 28.1), the siding at Coppell, a grade crossing with a divided street,  Coppell (MP 28.5), east end of Grapevine Vintage Railroad operation, a spur at TU Electrical (MP 29.6), where the line turns east, the Valwood Industrial Lead (MP 33.4), and Carrollton (MP 33.5), end of the FWWR and junction with the Dallas, Garland & Northeastern (former MKT).
