Pascack  Junction to Woodbine

From  the junction where the Pascack Valley Line splits off from the east side of the Bergen County Line at Pascack Junction (MP 7.6), the former heads north-northeast, double track, Automatic Block Signals, Yard Limits, maximum speed 40 mph for passenger trains and 30 mph for freight trains, past a signal bridge north of the junction, north-facing spurs to industry to the west, a grade crossing, a box to the east labeled Sport, a track joining non the east side and running alongside as extra track, a grade crossing, the extra track ending, a grade crossing, a box labeled Seamans to the west, where the line reduces to single track, the passenger station (east-side platform) at Woodridge (MP 9.7), a road bridge overhead at the station, a grade crossing, a siding to the east, the passenger station (west-side platform) at Teterboro (MP 11.4), a stream to the west, a street alongside to the east, extra track to the east, a wide road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, the street to the east turning away, two south-facing extra tracks to the east and the passenger station (west-side platform) at Essex Street, Hackensack (MP 12.6).

There is a grade crossing at the north end of the station, streets to the east and west, a grade crossing, a through girder bridge carrying the New York, Susquehanna & Western overhead, a grade crossing, streets to the east and west, two grade crossings, the passenger station (west-side platform) at Anderson Street, Hackensack (MP 13.7), two grade crossings (the second is Euclid Avenue), MP 14, a grade crosisng, and the streets to the east and west edging away, turning just east of due north, past the end of Yard Limits at MP 14.2, where the maximum speed becomes 50 mph for passenger trains and 40 mph for freight trains, an east-side siding at East Cole, a road bridge overhead, the passenger station (west side platform) at New Bridge Landing/Fairmount Avenue (MP 14.4), a grade crossing, a wooded area,  North Hackensack (MP 14.9), the river alongside to the east, turning away, a grade crossing, and a road alongside to the west.

The line passes a grade crossing, the river beyond a parking lot to the east, the passenger station (platform to the west) at River Edge (MP 16.7), along the west side of the Hackensack River, a box labeled J172 to the east, a street to the east, ending at a grade crossing, the river to the east, a street briefly to the west, the passenger station (platform and wooden depot to the west) at Oradell (MP 17.9), a grade crossing, a box labeled J180 to the west, MP 18, , the river to the east, a weir on the river, a golf course to the east, Intermediate Signals at Golf, MP 19, a street to the east, a grade crosisng at Kinderkamack Road, the passenger station (platform and brick depot to the east) at Emerson (MP 19.4), a grade crossing at Linwood Avenue, a grade crossing, a north-facing extra track to the east, MP 20, a bridge over a stream, a street to the east, and a grade crossing at First Street.

There is a turn just west of due north, with a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 20.5 to MP 20.6, past the passenger station (platform to the west) at Westwood (MP 20.6), a grade crossing, a box labeled J207 to the west, a street to the east, three grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, a box labeled J214, a grade crossing, the passenger station (platform and wooden depot to the east) at Hillsdale (MP 21.5), a grade crossing at Hillsdale Avenue, two grade crossings and a street to the west,  north-northeast past a box labeled J217 to the west, two grade crossings, a road to the east, the passenger station (platform to the west) at Woodcliff Lake (MP 22.8), the lake to the west, a grade crossing, a street to the east, a 30 mph freight speed restriction, from MP 23.5 to MP 23.8, and a box labeled Park to the west at the south end of  the passenger station at Park Ridge (MP 23.7), with platform to the west, a grade crossing at Park Avenue within the platform, and a wooden depot to the west, north of the grade crossing.

The line turns just east of due north, past a grade crossing, a grade crossing at intersections to the east and west, a street to the west, the passenger station (platform to the east) at Montvale (MP 24.3), a grade crossing at Kinderkamack Road, a wooded area, the border between New Jersey and New York State (MP 25.2), a south-facing extra track to the west, a grade crossing, the passenger station (platform and stucco depot to the east) at Pearl River (MP 25.6), a grade crossing, a box labeled J258 to the west, a street to the east, two grade crossings, dual road bridges overhead, a west-side siding, in the woods, a box labeled West Pond, and a grade crossing, and north-northwest, with a 30/25 mph speed restriction, from MP 27.8 to MP 29.1, at the passenger station (platform and umbrella shed to the west) at Nanuet (MP 27.9), where the line joins a former Erie line coming from the southeast, past a grade crossing at Prospect Road, a 20/10 speed restriction, from Dutch Lane to Spring Valley, a box labeled J286 to the east, a bridge over an "Interstate", a grade crossing, an embankment, a street to the east, an angled grade crossing, a bridge over a stream,  the passenger station (platform and wooden depot to the west) at Spring Valley (MP 30.3), end of NJT service, where Yard Limits start, a 10 mph speed restriction, from Spring Valley to Woodbine, past a grade crossing, Woodbine (MP 31.1), and the end of track at MP 31.4, whence lines once continued north to Stony Point and west to the former Erie main line at Suffern.
