Ridgewood Junction to Suffern

The double track Main Line, on the west side, and the double track Bergen County Line, on the east side, come together at Ridgewood Junction (MP 20.2), with extra track to the west, whence the Main Line continues north-northeast, Triple Track, Rule 261, Automatic Block Signals, maximum speed 60 mph for passenger trains and 40 mph for freight trains, past the passenger station (two high-level side platforms, stucco depot to the west) at Ridgewood (MP 20.9), where a new island platform is being built between the center and eastern tracks, in July, 2010, extra track to the west, the Control Point with signal bridge at Camerons (MP 21.6), a bridge over a street, a 50 mph passenger speed restriction, from MP 21.8 to MP 22.2 as the line turns just west of due north, and the passenger station (two high-level side platforms, depot to the west, pedestrian crossing within the station) at Hohokus (MP 22.1).

There is an embankment, a signal bridge, a road bridge overhead, a 40 mph passenger speed restriction, from MP 22.6 to MP 23.2, a street to the west, a footbridge overhead, the passenger station (two low-level side platforms, depot to the west) at Waldwick (MP 23.2), a six-track NJT yard to the east (for the Bergen County Line trains), extra track to the west, trailing in, crossovers and reduction to Double Track at WC (MP 23.5), where there is an old wooden tower to the west and the maximum passenger speed rises to 70 mph, a street to the east, an angled grade crossing, a bridge over a street, the passenger station (two low-level side platforms, stucco depot to the west) at Allendale (MP 24.6), a cantilever signal bridge, a bridge over drainage, in the woods, and a cantilever signal bridge.

The line turns north, with a 60 mph passenger speed restriction, from MP 24.9 and MP 25.4, past a street to the west, the passenger station (two low-level side platforms, stucco depot to the west) at Ramsey (MP 26.5), a grade crossing at the north end of the station, a grade crossing, a cantilever signal bridge, the passenger station (two high-level side platforms with umbrella sheds, footbridge) at Ramsey Route 17, parking structure to the east, Route 17 road bridge overhead within the station, a cantilever signal bridge, a bridge over a street, a bridge over a street at the south end of the passenger station (two low-level side platforms, stucco depot to the west) at Mahwah (MP 29.1), the border between New Jersey and New York at MP 30.1, where there is a 65 mph passenger speed restriction on Track 2, over State Line Bridge, a bridge over a stream, a bridge over a road, crossovers with a cantilever signal bridge, the passenger station (two low-level side platforms, depot to the west) at Suffern (MP 30.5), a 45 mph passenger speed restriction on Track 1 and 40 mph on Track 2, from MP 30.6 to MP 30.9, and the start of current-of-traffic (Rule 251) at SF (MP 30.5), to the end of NJT ownership at Division Post (MP 31.3).
