Harold/Woodside to Port Washington

From the crossovers at Harold (MP 3.7/1.8), where the line from Long Island City trails in on the south side of the line from New York Penn Station, the Amtrak tracks turn north, with Harold Tower on the west side and two bridges carrying the local and then express tracks of the 7 Subway overhead, the third-rail electrified LIRR tracks turn away southeast, past the passenger station at Woodside (MP 3.1), and the junction at Wood (MP 3.2), where the Port Washington Branch departs on the north side, turning east-northeast, third-rail electrified, past a bridge carrying the Bay Ridge freight line overhead, the passenger station at Elmhurst, crossovers at Shea (MP 6.2), the passenger station at Shea Stadium (MP 6.7), a bridge over an inlet, Whitestone Junction, where an erstwhile line to Whitestone Inlet once left to the north, Great Neck Junction, where an erstwhile line to Floral Park once left to the southeast, and the passenger station at Flushing Main Street (MP 7.5).

There is a passenger station at Murraqy Hill (MP 8.4), a turn east, past the passenger station at Broadway (MP 9.2), the passenger station at Auburndale (MP 9.9), the passenger station at Bayside (MP 10.8), and crossovers at Bay (MP 11.0), a turn northeast, past the passenger station at Douglaston (MP 12.1) and the passenger station at Little Neck (MP 12.7), north to the crossovers and passenger station at Great Neck (MP 13.9), just north of due east, to the passenger station at Manhasset (MP 15.4), , just east of due north, to the passenger station at Plandome (MP 16.5), east-northeast and finnaly north to the passenger station at Port Washington (MP 18.1), end of the line.
