Snow Junction to Thendara

This line was built as part of the Mohawk & Malone, north from Herkimer, through Remsen, and then northeast over the Adirondacks to Lake Placid. The Adirondack Scenic Railroad runs mainly within the confines of the Adirondack Mountains Park.

From Snow Junction, where the line owned by the Adirondack Scenic departs on the east side of the MA&N, which turns north, the line edges away just east of due north, and then turns north, past Delavan and Kayuta, turning north-northeast at Forestport, where the depot is on the east side of the line with the Buffalo Head Inn behind it, then just east of due north again, past Woodgate, Otter Lake, McKeever, and a bridge over a river, then running along the west side of a side river, past Nelson, and turning northeast past Minnehaha and Onekio to Thendara, where the depot is on the southeast side of the line.
