From the junction with the east leg of the wye with the Belt Line at Belt Line Junction (MP 567.5), the line turns north, single track, CTC, ABS, maximum speed 40 mph, turning curvily northeast, past MP 566.7, where the maximum speed rises to 45 mph, Montreal, a detector at "Tucker" (MP 564.0), the 10,192 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from SE Tucker (MP 563.5), past four spurs on the south side and three spurs on the north side, to Tucker (MP 561.0), a signal at Tucker Holdout (MP 559.0), MP 558.3, where the maximum speed rises to 50 mph, a 20-car east-facing north-side spur at Lilburn Storage (MP 555.0), a detector at "Lilburn" (MP 552.4), Luxomni, the 7,975 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from SE Gloster (MP 550.4) to NE Gloster (MP 548.6), a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 547.7 to MP 544.0, a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 544.0 to MP 537.6, where the full line speed prevails, and the 9,726 ft. south-side siding (10 mph on the siding), from SE Lawrenceville (MP 543.8), past a dual-ended spur on the south side, and a wye on the south side of that, to NE Lawrenceville (MP 542.0), where an erstwhile shortline once headed north and a spur heads south on the former route to Loganville.

The line turns curvily east-northeast, past the Atlanta Auto-Ramp complex, including the five-track TDSI Yard on the south side, from SE TDSI (MP 540.9) to NE TDSI (MP 539.8), where a single track yard lead on the south side continues into the 8,880 ft. south-side siding (30 mph on the siding), from SE Dracula (MP 539.8) to NE Dracula (MP 538.0) and the three-track Palmer Yard on the south side, from MP 536.8 to MP 534.7, and curvily just south of due east, at the 9,968 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from SE Auburn (MP 533.8 to NE Auburn (MP 531.7), past the 65-car dual-ended north-side spur from SE John-Manville (MP 530.8), past a detector on the main at MP 530.0 and a west-facing north-side spur at John-Manville, to NE John-Manville (MP 529.8), the 52-car dual-ended north-side spur from SE South Storage (MP 528.0) to NE South Storage (MP 527.2), a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 527.7 to MP 524.3, Winder (MP 527.0), where an erstwhile line from Belmont to Monroe once crossed, and the 38-car dual-ended north side spur from SE North Storage (MP 526.8) to NE North Storage (MP 526.4).

The line turns curvily east-southeast, with a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 491.7 to MP 491.0, past Comer, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 491.0 to MP 489.0, a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 489.0 to MP 485.0, the 9,953 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from SE Howie (MP 487.5) to NE Howie (MP 485.5), a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 485.0 to MP 483.0, and a detector at "Howie" (MP 484.6), curvily northeast at Berkely, past a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 483.0 to MP 479.6, Oglesby, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 479.6 to MP 472.5, Ethridge, and the 40-car dual-ended south-side Webster Industrial Track, from SE Webster (MP 473.6) to NE Webster (MP 473.2), southeast where a line from Toccoa trails in from the northwest, with a 25 mph speed restriction, from MP 472.5 to MP 469.9, past Elberton, a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 469.9 to MP 465.7, and a location where an erstwhile shortline once headed southeast, and curvily east, past Norman, Middleton, a detector at "Heardmont" (MP 462.6), and the river bridge forming the border between Georgia and South Carolina.

There is a 9,950 ft. south-side siding, from SE Calhoun Falls (MP 454.5), past an east-facing south-side spur, to NE Calhoun Falls (MP 452.4), as the line turns curvily east-northeast, past a detector at MP 447.8, Wallis, and a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 447.0 to MP 441.9, just south of due east, past a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 441.9 to MP 428.4 and the 10,071 ft. south-side siding, from South Abbeville (MP 441.9), past the south-side Abbeville yard (MP 441.4 to MP 440.2), Abbeville Depot (MP 440.0), and a west-facing south-side spur (MP 439.9) to North Abbeville (MP 439.9), where an erstwhile Southern Railway branch once headed northeast, south and southeast past Cana and an east-facing north side spur at Wood Yard (MP 435.9), and curvily just north of due east, to a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 428.4 to MP 426.6 and the junction with the McCormick sub. from Augusta, trailing in on the south side at Salack (MP 428.2), start of Two Main Tracks, with crossovers both ways, and start of the three-track and three-spur south-side Maxwell Yard, where the line turns northeast, with the former right of way of the Charlotte & Western Carolina (the line from Augusta) alongside to the south.

The line turns just east of due north, with a 30 mph speed restriction, through Greenwood, from MP 426.6 to MP 424.7, past crossovers at Greenwood (MP 426.6), north end of the yard and start of a Scale Track and the 11,399 ft. Maxwell Siding, both on the south side, where an erstwhile line to Greenville once headed north-northwest, turning east-northeast past the end of the Scale Track and siding at North End Maxwell (MP 425.9), where an erstwhile Southern line once bridged overhead, the resumption of single track at North Greenwood (MP 424.7), where the maximum speed becomes 45 mph, a detector at "Greenwood" (MP 422.9), and the junction with the Spartanburg sub., heading away on the north side at Park Junction (MP 422.2).
