Hamlet to Pembroke

From the south end of Hamlet Yard, on the east side, at Tex (MP 250.1), the line heads south-southwest, single track, CTC, ABS, past Diesel Shop (MP 250.5), where Track 3 departs on the east side from what then becomes Track 2, with a 20 mph speed restriction on Track 3 from MP 250.5 to MP 252.6, and a 25 mph speed restriction thence to MP 254.7, past the south end of Williams Yard, on the east side, at Warmac Interlocking (MP 252.7), where a crossover heads back to Track 2 and crossovers at Hamlet Avenue (MP 253.4), and Monroe Junction (MP 253.2), where Track 3 curves southeast to Bridges Street (MP 253.6), where the East-West Connection from the flat crossing with the S-line trails in on the south side, and continues southeast past the start of a 4,718 ft. siding on the south side, at NE East Jct. Siding (MP 254.0), that ends on the Andrews sub., and NE East Jct. (MP 254.1), where the Wilmington sub. turns away on the north side of the line to the Andrews sub., and heads east-southeast, single track, Track Warrant Control-Direct Traffic Control in the Hamlet Block, unsignaled, maximum speed 49 mph once the end of the speed restriction is reached at MP 254.7, past the end of the Hamlet Block and start of the Laurel Hill Block at MP 257.5.

The line turns curvily southeast, past a detector at "Elmore" (MP 256.0) and Old Hundred, and east-southeast, dead straight, past Laurel Hill, the 10,200 ft. south-side siding, from SE Elmore (MP 266.2), past the end of the Laurel Hill Block and start of the Elmore Block at MP 268.1, to NE Elmore (MP 268.2), a 40 mph speed restriction through Laurinburg (MP 269.1), the flat crossing with the Laurinburg & Southern Railroad (MP 269.2), two dual-ended extra tracks on the south side, from SE Dixie (MP 270.5), where there is an east-facing south-side spur, to NE Dixie (MP 271.1), the dual-ended north-side spur, from SE Butler (MP 272.8) to NE Butler (MP 273.2), the end of the Elmore Block and start of the Maxton Block at MP 274.0, the wye with an extra track on the north side, from SE McNairs (MP 274.3) to NE McNairs (MP 274.9), the west-facing north-side spur at Campbell's Soup (MP 275.4), Maxton, where an erstwhile ACL line once crossed, Alma, where an erstwhile shortline once headed south, the 10,372 ft. north-side siding, from SE Wilkes (MP 278.9) to NE Wilkes (MP 281.0), end of the Maxton Block and start of the Pates Block, Red Bank, a detector at "Pembroke" (MP 283.4), Pates, an 8-car east-facing south-side spur at MP 285.5, and the end of the Pates Block and start of the Pembroke Block at  Pembroke (MP 285.6), where the Pembroke Connection, in the north quadrant of the flat crossing with the South End sub. (of the A-Line) at MP 285.7, departs on the north side.
