The line passes a grade crossing, a spur heading away on the west side, a grade crossing, Pinopolis Power Plant on the west side of the line, with a loop for discharge of unit coal trains heading west from Pinopolis Junction (MP 360.5), MP 361.7 to MP 361.8, where the speed limit is 50 mph over the through truss drawbridge at Tail Race Canal, and Pinopolis (MP 361.9), where double track resumes, with a passenger speed limit of 70 mph on the west track, Intermediate Signals at North Moncks Corner, a road bridge overhead, an old wooden depot on the west side at Moncks Corner (MP 365.0), where a line from Chopra once trailed in from the northwest, a grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, South Moncks Corner (MP 366.8), where single track starts again, and full line speeds resume, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals at Oakley, a bridge over a stream, and two grade crossings.

Double track resumes at Strawberry (MP 373.1), with a passenger speed limit of 70 mph on the west track, past a road bridge overhead, a spur heading away on the west side, Intermediate Signals at "Bob's Corner", two grade crossings, Mt. Holly (MP 376.1), three grade crossings, a divided road alongside to the west, MP 376.9, where single track starts again, and full line speeds resume, Intermediate Signals and a detector at Goose Creek (MP 378.9), a pond to the west, a grade crossing, a road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals at Otranto, where the line turns south-southeast, a grade crossing, Hanahan (MP 383.3), "Hanahan" (MP 383.4), where double track resumes, two grade crossings in town, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals at "Reno", a grade crossing, a flat crossing with an NS line at MP 386.2, dual road bridges overhead, a bridge over a stream, and a connector in the southeast quadrant trailing in at Meads (MP 386.3), with a crossover to its south, two grade crossings, a street alongside to the west, the passenger station, with brick depot and platform with umbrella shed to the east, just north of the Intermediate Signals at North Charleston (MP 387.7), a road bridge overhead, and Ashley Junction (MP 388.1), adjacent to the CSX Intermodal Yard (dead ahead), where the line turns west-southwest at a wye, leaving Charleston itself several miles off to the south.
