Glendive to Mandan

From the wye on the west side for the junction with the Sidney Line subdivision, north to Snowden, MT, and  the yard and shuttle-enabled rail-served grain elevator at Glendive (MP 215.8), in Yard Limits, the former Northern Pacific line passes the end of Yard Limits at MP 213.5 and turns southeast, Track Warrant Control, Automatic Block Signals, speed limit 45 mph for the big curve, past the 8,497 ft. siding at Curry (MP 210.1), Allard, and the 6,533 ft. siding at Iona (MP 200.5), where the speed limit has risen to 50 mph, turning very curvily east past the 6,091 ft. siding at Hodges (MP 195.5), Heckman, a detector at MP 190.6, the 6,476 ft. siding at Beaver Hill (MP 188.4), where there is a 40 mph speed restriction, and additional track at Wibaux (MP 184.7), where the speed limit has risen to 60 mph, south-southeast past the 7,149 ft. siding at Yates (MP 179.9), and just south of due east past the border between Montana and North Dakota and a detector at MP 177.0, where the speed limit has fallen to 50 mph.

The line turns just east of due south, east past Beach (MP 174.2), where an erstwhile Northern Pacific branch once headed south to Ollie, southeast past Chama, curvily east-northeast past the 10,115 ft. siding at Sentinel Butte (MP 167.2), where the speed limit is back to 60 mph, curvily east past additional track at Demores (MP 161.0), where the speed limit has fallen to 40 mph, the 7,474 ft. siding at Rider (MP 155.0), and a detector at MP 152.5, just east of due south, bridging over the Little Missouri River and passing additional track at Little Missouri (MP 149.8), near the town of Medora, east-southeast past Scoria, south-southeast and then north-northeast past the 9,592 ft. siding at Sully Springs (MP 141.0), curvily just south of due east past the 9,673 ft. siding at Fryburg (MP 134.5), where there is a 35 mph speed restriction, curvily southeast, curvily northeast, and then just south of due east past additional track for 52-car rail-served grain facilities at Belfield (MP 129.4), where the speed limit has risen to 45 mph.

There is a detector at Zenith (MP 124.8), where the speed limit has risen to 60 mph, a 7,215 ft. siding at South Heart (MP 119.1), additional track at Eland (MP 114.0), where the line has turned just north of due east, Yard Limits between MP 112.1 and MP 107.9 for the 6,610 ft. siding, 52-car rail-served grain facilities and yard at Dickinson (MP 109.5), where there is a 25 mph speed restriction and the line turns just south of due east, east-southeast, east-northeast, southeast past the 7,498 ft. siding at Lehigh (MP 104.9), where the speed limit has risen to 45 mph and there is a spur on the south side for Royal Oak Enterprises, northeast and then curvily east past additional track at Gladstone (MP 98.2), north-northeast, curvily east-northeast past additional track for shuttle-enabled rail-served grain elevators at Boyle (MP 97.0) and the 11,234 ft. siding at Taylor (MP 92.0), east-southeast past a detector at MP 87.9, where the speed limit has risen to 60 mph and additional track at Richardton (MP 85.5), curvily southeast to the 8,660 ft. siding at Antelope (MP 79.2), where the speed limit has fallen to 40 mph as the line turns north.

The line turns just north of due east, northeast, and just north of due east past Knife River and the 7,091 ft. siding at Hebron (MP 70.1), where the speed limit has risen to 60 mph, southeast, just east of due south past the 6,227 ft. siding at Eagle Nest (MP 63.6), east-southeast past a detector at MP 61.8, east past the 6,524 ft. siding at Glen Ullin (MP 57.5), a mileage equation MP 54.0=MP 44.4, and Kurtz, east-northeast and east past  the 6,999 ft. siding at Dengate (MP 38.7), North Almont, a detector at MP 32.8, Sims, the 7,151 ft. siding at New Salem (MP 27.9), where the speed limit falls to 40 mph, Sedalia, and additional track at Judson (MP 21.3), turning southeast, east-northeast, southeast past additional track for 26-car rail-served grain elevators at Sweetbriar (MP 15.1), east, south, curvily east-southeast, with a 30 mph speed restriction between MP 14.0 and MP 10.2, where the speed limit rises to 50 mph, northeast past the 7,600 ft. siding at Lyons (MP 8.3), east, northeast, just south of due east past the start of Yard Limits at MP 4.0 and additional track at Sunny (MP 3.1), and east past the yard at Mandan (MP 0.0), where the speed limit is 35 mph, a former Northern Pacific line from the Freedom Mine, the Beulah Mine, the Coyote Power Plant, the Stanton Power Plant and the Leland Olds Power Plant trails in from the north, and an erstwhile NP line once headed south.
