Mandan to Jamestown

From the yard at Mandan (MP 200.3), where the speed limit is 35 mph, a former Northern Pacific line from the Freedom Mine, the Beulah Mine, the Coyote Power Plant, the Stanton Power Plant and the Leland Olds Power Plant trails in from the north, and an erstwhile NP line once headed south, the main line heads southeast, single track, Track Warrant Control, Automatic Block Signals, speed limit 60 mph (50 mph for empty coal trains, and 45 mph for trains with over 100 tons per operable brake), but local speed restriction of 35 mph, turning east onto the long steel trestle across the valley containing the Missouri River, far below, then southeast and east again past the 7,866 ft. siding and two sets of 26-car rail-served grain elevators at Bismarck (MP 194.4), southeast again past a former crossing with an erstwhile SOO line, and just south of due east past Pierce and MP 192.0, where Yard Limits and the local speed restriction end.

The line turns east-northeast, east past the 7,827 ft. siding at Burleigh (MP 181.6) and the 4,531 ft. siding and 26-car rail-served grain elevators at McKenzie (MP 176.2), where the line turns southeast and a Dakota, Missouri Valley & Western (former NP) line heads south, a detector at MP 172.7, just north of due east, northeast past the 6,131 ft. siding and shuttle-enabled rail-served grain elevators at Sterling (MP 169.6), just north of due east, east past the 8,595 ft. siding at Driscoll (MP 161.9), the 7,396 ft. siding at Steele (MP 157.0), a detector at MP 144.4, additional track at Tappen (MP 137.6), additional track at Dawson (MP 135.2), the 11,585 ft. siding at Ladoga (MP 134.5), Crystal Springs, and the 7,336 ft. siding at Medina (MP 121.5), and just south of due east past a detector at MP 117.5, Cleveland (MP 112.8), a speed restriction of 50 mph for the reverse curves between MP 112.5 and MP 108.0, and the 7,243 ft. siding and 26-car rail-served grain elevators at Windsor (MP 109.0).

Double Track (current-of-traffic) starts (35 mph on the turnout) at the 26-car rail-served grain elevators at Eldridge (MP 99.7), past a speed restriction of 30 mph starting at MP 96.0, West Jamestown, additional track at 26-car rail-served grain elevators at Peavy West Elevator (MP 95.4), MP 95.0, where Yard Limits start, a turn just east of due south and then just north of due east, a junction where the Red River Valley & Western (former NP) trails in from the north, a turn to the east, and shuttle-enabled rail-served grain elevators at Jamestown (MP 93.7 - MP 92.2/MP 99.2), where another RRVW (former NP) line heads south.
