From the west leg of a wye on the west side with the Loineville sub. from Birmingham, a 10 mph speed restriction, from MP 788.5 to MP 788.1, the south leg of the wye, trailing in from the west at NE Manchester (MP 788.3), start of a 7,300 ft. west-side siding, with four extra tracks to its west, with a 20 mph speed restriction from MP 788.1 to MP 787.9, a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 787.9 to MP 783.7, to S Manchester (MP 786.1), the former Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast heads east, single track, CTC, Automatic Block Signals, maximum speed 55 mph (but with the aforesaid 30 mph local restriction), past Chalybeate Springs, turning very curvily south, with a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 783.7 to MP 783.0, past a detector at "Woodland" (MP 783.3), a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 783.0 to MP 778.3, the 10,361 ft. west-side siding (25 mph on teh siding), from N Woodland (MP 782.2), past Woodland (MP 781.1), to S Woodland (MP 780.1), a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 778.3 to MP 776.9, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 776.9 to MP 772.3, a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 772.3 to MP 771.9, a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 771.9 to MP 770.7, after which the full line speed prevails, and the 6,314 ft. west-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from N Talbotton (MP 770.3), past a west-facing spur on the south side, to S Talbotton (MP 769.0).

The line turns curvily south-southeast, with a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 768.1 to MP 765.1, past the 75-car east-facing south side Junction City Mining spur at Junction City (MP 766.5), a bridge voer the former Central of Georgia, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 765.1 to MP 764.1, the 200-car west-facing south-side spur for Martin Marietta at Winchester Junction (MP 764.1, a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 764.1 to MP 763.8, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 763.8 to MP 760.0, a detector at "Junction City" (MP 762.7), the 10,419 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from N Brownsand (MP 761.3), past and additional 7,000 ft. north-side storage track ending at MP 760.1, to S Brownsand (MP 759.1), MP 760.0, where the maximum speed rises to 60 mph, the 16-car west-facing south-side spur for Union Sand Company (MP 759.0), a 55 mph speed restriction, from MP 754,8 to MP 754.6, and a 45-car dual-ended north side spur at Mauk Storage (MP 754.6).

Two Main Tracks start at Mauk (MP 754.0), as the line turns curvily east-southeast, past a 150-car west-facing south-side spur for Southern States Landfill (MP 751.6), a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 751.2 to MP 750.0, Charing, crossovers at Dyson (MP 748.5) and MP 746.6 (one each), the resumption of single track at Rupert (MP 745.1), a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 744.5 to MP 742.7, Southland, a detector at "Ideal" (MP 740.8), a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 739.3 to MP 735.0, the 11,223 ft. north-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from N Ideal (MP 737.8) to S Ideal (MP 735.2), a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 735.0 to MP 734.8, a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 734.8 to MP 733.1, a 25-car east-facing south-side spur for Chip Mill (MP 732.8), and a 75-car west-facing spur for Tyson Foods (MP 732.5).

The line turns south, with a 55 mph speed restriction, from MP 729.3 to MP 728.8, past a connector on the west side onto the former Central of Georgia south to Americus, turning east, past the 4,849 ft. south-side siding (10 mph on the siding), from N Oglethorpe (MP 728.8) to S Oglethorpe (MP 727.8), with a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 728.6 to MP 727.8, a 30 mph speed restriction, for the flat crossing with the NS (former CofG), between MP 727.8 and MP 727.6, and  turning curvily south-southeast at Montezuma, with a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 728.6 to MP 725.0, and a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 725.0 to MP 724.1, after which the full line speed prevails, past Fields, a detector at "Montezuma" (MP 722.5), a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 720.9 to MP 712.6, after which the full line speed prevails, the 10,744 ft. south-side siding (25 mph on the siding), from N Dooling (MP 718.5 to S Dooling (MP 716.5), and a 10-car east-facing north-side spur at Byronville (MP 715.3).

There is a 6,176 ft. north-side siding from N Lilly (MP 710.6) to S Lilly (MP 709.3), a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 708.3 to MP 707.5, and a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 706.7 to MP 706.5, a turn just west of due south, past two extra dual-ended south-side tracks holding 12 cars at Vienna (MP 704.6), where there are connectors on the west side to and from the parallel NS (former Georgia Southern and Florida) line coming south from Macon, on the east side, the 50-car west-facing south-side spur for Mid Georgia processing (MP 704.2), the 25-car east-facing north-side spur for Georgia Pacific (MP 703.6), a detector at Ross (MP 700.7), and the 14,485 ft. north-side siding (30 mph on the siding, from N Ross (MP 699.1), past two dual-ended 30-car tracks on the north side, to S Ross (MP 696.2, a turn just south of due east, with a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 697.2 to MP 695.5, past a 30 mph speed restriction for the flat crossing with the NS Macon line at MP 695.0 and the acute-angled flat crossing with the Heart of Georgia, between MP 695.5 and MP 694.3, a 50 mph speed restriction, from MP 694.3 to MP 692.0, after which full line speed prevails, and the 9,959 ft. south-side siding, from N Cordele (MP 694.3), past an additional dual-ended track for 45-cars on the south side, to S Cordele (MP 692.2).
