Talladega to La Grange

From the flat crossing, with south quadrant connector, with the NS Anniston to Childersburg line, at NS Xing Talladega (MP 910.9), turning east at the wye on the south side with the EARY (Eastern Alabama Railway) Branch (a former L&N line, with a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 910.3 to MP 907.5 and extra tracks on both sides, with east-facing spurs on the north side, to Bama Junction (MP 908.4), where another former L&N line trails in on the south side and once continued east and then north, the former Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast heads south-southeast, single track, CTC, Automatic Block Signals, maximum speed 50 mph, but with local 45 mph speed restriction to MP 907.5, past a west-facing spurs on the north side for Georgia Pacific and Precision Strip, the 18,232 ft, south-side siding, from NE Carara (MP 907.4) to SE Carara (MP 903.8), and Waldo, turning south-southeast to Chandler Springs, where it turns sharply and curvily just nort of due east, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 903.0 to MP 886.6, past Yamme.

There is a tunnel, the 10,429 ft. south-side siding, from NE Weathers (MP 896.8) to  SE Weathers (MP 894.7), Clairmont Springs, a detector at "Weathers" (MP 892.1), Erin, a turn curvily east, Pyriton, where an erstwhile line to Ashland once headed south, a turn curvily southeast, with a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 886.6 to MP 879.0, past a west-facing south-side spur at Feed Mill, the 6,528 ft. north-side siding from NE Lineville (MP 882.4), past the west-facing Hill Track on the south side, the west-facing spur for Woodyard, on the north side, and the east-facing House Track on the south side, to SE Lineville (MP 881.0), and Ace Products (MP 880.5), turning south, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 879.0 to MP 859.5, curvily southeast, east, northeast and around a clockwise horseshoe to south-southeast, past the 7,608 ft. south-side siding, from NE Cragford (MP 872.9), past an east-facing Wood Yard spur on the north side, to SE Cragford (MP 871.4).

The line turns curvily east, past a detector at "Cragford" (MP 871.3) and Tokio, curvily just east of due south, along the west bank of the Tallapoosa River, past the east-facing south-side spur for Malone Wood Yard, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 859.5 to MP 854.8, after which the full line speed prevails, and the 10,574 ft. south-side siding, from NE Wadley (MP 857.7), past the west-facing Hill Track on the south side, to SE Wadley (MP 855.5), turning east-northeast and bridging across the river, past an east-facing north-side spur for Abanda Wood Yard, the 6,072 ft. north-side siding from NE Blake (MP 852.9) to SE Blake (MP 851.8), a detector at "Blake" (MP 849.6), and an east-facing north-side spurs at Dickert (MP 849.5), jossing south and then east, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 845.2 to MP 840.1, past the 4,290 ft. north-side siding, from NE Roanoke (MP 843.7), past the dual-ended House Track on the north side, the west-facing spur for a Wood Yard on the north side, and spurs on the south side for a Wood Yard and Aubry Feed, to SE Roanoke (MP 842.9), where a Central of Georgia line once continued east and the line turns south, past an east-facing sourh-side spur for Amoco, a signal at Roanoke Holdout (MP 841.4), and a west-facing south side spur for Steel Fab. (MP 840.8.

There is a turn curvily southeast, with a 45 mph speed restriction, from MP 840.1 to MP 833.0, past a bridge over that erstwhile CofG line, Cedric, the 9,317 ft. south-side siding, from NE Standing Rock (MP 834.7), past an east-facing sourh-side spur for a Wood Yard, to SE Standing Rock (MP 832.8), where the erstwhile Chattahoochee Valley Railway once headed south, the border between Alabama and Georgia, Abbotsford, and a detector at "Pyne" (MP 829.0), turning east, past a bridge over the Chattahoochee River, south and curvily east, past the 6,703 ft. north side siding, from NE Pyne (MP 825.9), past an east-facing north-side spur for a Wood Yard, to SE Pyne (MP 824.6), a signal at La Grange Holdout 2.2 (MP 822.4), a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 821.7 to MP 819.5, a west-facing south-side spur at Tredegar (MP 821.0), a 25 mph speed restriction, from MP 819.5 to MP 818.9, the junction with the Atlanta & West Point sub., trailing in from the southwest, at [La Grange] Main Street (MP 818.9/71.2), where Two Main Tracks start, with the north track 45 mph to MP 69.1 and the south track 45 mph to MP 71.0, a crossover at MP 71.0, where the south track becomes 30 mph to MP 69.1, the east-facing north-side Dunson Lead, three extra tracks on the south side, and the junction with the former Atlanta & West Point, heading away northeast, at Lafayette  Conn. (MP 69.1/816.7), where the former Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast turns curvily southeast.
