Brinkley to Dexter Junction

There is a 30 mph speed restriction between MP 199.5 and MP 198.2, the 7,678 ft. uncontrolled siding (20 mph on the siding) at Brinkley (MP 199.0), where an erstwhile Arkansas Midland line from Pine City once trailed in from the south, the southeast leg of the wye on the east side, with the Memphis line heading east-northeast, at Memphis Junction (MP 198.9), a former flat crossing with an erstwhile Rock Island line coming from the west that once continued jointly on the line to Memphis, a 60 mph speed limit from MP 198.2 onward, and the northeast leg of the wye on the east side, with the Memphis line, at East Brinkley (MP 198.0).

The former Cotton Belt line continues just east of due north, where an erstwhile Rock Island line once headed north-northwest, and passes the 9,401 ft. siding (30 mph on this and all other controlled sidings) at East Brinkley, turning north-northeast past Fargo where there was once a flat crossing with the erstwhile Missouri & North Arkansas Railway, Cent, a detector at MP 191.1, the 8,593 ft. siding at Hunter (MP 186.9), Hilleman, a detector at MP 179.9, Penrose (MP 176.3), the 8,678 ft. siding at Fair Oaks (MP 172.7), where there is a flat crossing with the former MoPac Poplar Bluff to Memphis line at MP 172.6 (50 mph on the crossing), where the line turns just east of due north, a detector at MP 167.8, Tilton, the 7,837 ft. siding at Hickory Ridge (MP 161.5), a detector at MP 157.6, where the line turns north-northeast again, Fisher, a detector at MP 153.7, the 7,301 ft. siding at Waldenburg (MP 149.6), Riceland Foods, Weiner (MP 145.4), Shukib, a detector at MP 141.9, Brainard, MP 140.6, where the speed limit rises from 60 mph to 70 mph, the 7,269 ft. siding at Otwell (MP 137.4), Gibson (MP 133.2), and a detector at MP 130.9.

There is a speed limit of 60 mph between MP 129.3 and MP 126.2, as the line turns east-northeast, northeast past a detector at MP 128.6, and then just north of due east past the start of Yard Limits at MP 127.6, a speed restriction of 20 mph between MP 126.2 and MP 124.0, a turn east-southeast, Jonesboro (MP 124.8), where CTC is replaced by ABS, a speed restriction of 35 mph between MP 124.0 and MP 122.6, the end of Yard Limits at MP 123.9, a detector at MP 123.7, a turn east across a flat crossing with the former Frisco Springfield, MO, to Memphis line at BN Crossing (MP 122.6), where CTC resumes and the speed limit rises to 50 mph as far as MP 121.7, where the full line speed of 70 mph pertains, a turn northeast past a former flat crossing with an erstwhile branch into Jonesboro and a detector at MP 119.8, and a turn north-northeast at Jonesboro Junction (MP 119.7), where a former MoPac (St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern) line, that used to run alongside to the east, trails in from the south-southwest.

The line continues as a joint line, past Farville (MP 117.8), where there is a spur for Anheuser Busch, a detector at MP 117.6, the 7,263 ft. siding at Brookland (MP 115.7), Bethel, a detector at MP 109.9, Paragould Junction (MP 106.0), a speed restriction of 30 mph from MP 104.2 to MP 103.6, a speed restriction of 20 mph from MP 103.6 to MP 102.4, after which full line speeds prevail, and the 6,822 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Paragould (MP 103.5)where the erstwhile former Iron Mountain line once headed north-northwest, the erstwhile Paragould & Memphis Railroad once headed away east, and an erstwhile Cotton Belt  line once headed east-northeast.

There is Halliday, a detector at MP 96.7, Marmaduke (MP 92.9), the 6,996 ft. siding at Jay (MP 90.7), a detector at MP 87.9, a speed limit of 55 mph between MP 86.1 and MP 85.3, after which full line speeds prevail, Rector (MP 85.6), where there is a spur for Crocket Gas, a detector at MP 84.9, a detector at MP 82.4, the 8,277 ft. siding at Greenway (MP 78.8), a speed limit of 55 mph between MP 76.9 and MP 74.5, after which full line speeds prevail, additional track at Piggott (MP 75.6), where an erstwhile Frisco branch once crossed on the flat, a detector at MP 74.1, and the 7,570 ft. siding at St. Francis (MP 69.9), where the line turns northeast and crosses the state line from Arkansas into Missouri, additional track at Campbell (MP 64.4), where a narrow gauge line from Buckhorn once trailed in (alongside) from the south and another erstwhile Frisco line once crossed on the flat, and a detector at MP 61.8.

Two Main Tracks, CTC, start at WM Junction (MP 59.6), with speed restriction 30 mph on the South Track, past a speed restriction of 20 mph between MP 58.4 and MP I-67.3, Malden (MP 57.9/I-67.7), where an erstwhile Frisco line once trailed in from the south, an erstwhile Cotton Belt (Gideon & North Island Railroad) line once trailed in from the south-southeast, the New Madrid Branch (the original Cotton Belt main line to Birds Point) heads away on the east side, there is a grain spur, and today's main line turns north-northwest, turning north with a speed restriction of 30 mph on the South Track between MP I-67.3 and MP I-65.2, past EM Junction (MP I-65.2), where the line reverts to single track, CTC, the Grocery Spur (MP I-65.0), a spur to the west at Airscule (MP I-64.3), a detector at MP I-62.0, the 7,249 ft. siding at Bernie (MP I-59.5), where there is extra track, and a detector at MP I-55.0, turning northeast, with a speed restriction of 50 mph between MP I-51.2 and MP I-50.2, past Dexter (MP I-50.9), where there is a house track and the former MoPac line comes alongside to the west, and a flat crossing (speed restriction 30 mph on the crossing) with a MoPac line at MP Crossing (MP I-50.2), to Dexter Junction (MP I-50.1), where a former Iron Mountain line that once went to Birds Point (on the Mississippi River, opposite Cairo, IL) heads away east and the main line, now Two Main Tracks, CTC (and once joint UP, former MP, and Cotton Belt), continues northeast, with speed limit 60 mph on Track 1 and 30 mph on Track 2 (South Track).
