Brinkley to Memphis

From the southeast leg of the wye on the east side of the Pine Bluff to Dexter Junction line, at Memphis Junction (MP 69.2), start of the Palestine Block, the former junction with an erstwhile Rock Island line from the west that once continued jointly on the line to Memphis, and the northeast leg of the wye trailing in on the north side at Cotton Belt Junction (MP 68.5), the Memphis line heads east-northeast, Direct Traffic Control, Automatic Block Signals, with speed limit 10 mph between MP 69.2 and MP 69.1, and 25 mph between MP 69.1 and MP 68.3, rising to the line's maximum of 60 mph thereafter,  past Wheatley (MP 64.5), where there was once a flat crossing with the erstwhile Missouri & North Arkansas Railway, Blossom, Goodwin, MP 51.8 (west end of the siding), end of the Palestine Block and start of the Forrest City Block, the 8,391 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Palestine (MP 51.6), where the erstwhile L'Anguille River Railroad once trailed in from the north, Longino, a detector at MP 49.0, Becks, Redfern, an industrial spur at MP 45.0, a connector on the south side to the flat crossing with the former MP line between Jonesboro and Helena (on the west bank of the Mississippi), and the 3,713 ft. siding (10 mph on the siding) at Forrest City (MP 44.8).

The line turns southeast, past MP 43.8, end of the Forrest City Block and start of the Widener Block, and then east-northeast past a detector at MP 43.4, Cross Creek, Madison, a bridge at MP 40.6, the 4,017 ft. siding (10 mph on the siding) at Widener (MP 38.5), MP 38.3 (east end of the siding), end of the Widener Block and start of the Heth Block, a detector at MP 36.4, and Round Pond, where a shortline to Short Bend once headed away north, turning just north of due east past Blackfish, Whitmore, Lucern, where the erstwhile Helena, Parkin & Northern  Railway once headed away north, Cicala, the 8,391 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Heth (MP 26.9), where the erstwhile Crittenden Railroad once headed away north, MP 25.5 (east end of the siding), end of the Heth Block and start of the Proctor Block, Jonquil, a detector at MP 23.9, Tarsus, Browns, the 4,631 ft. siding (10 mph on the siding) at Proctor (MP 19.7), MP 19.6 (east end of the siding), end of the Proctor Block and start of the Mounds Block, Edmonson, the 5,319 ft. siding (10 mph on the siding) at Mounds (MP 13.7), MP 12.8 (east end of the siding), end of the Mounds Block and start of the West Memphis Block, and the 4,130 ft. siding (10 mph on the siding) at West Memphis (MP 9.4).

CTC starts at Hulbert (MP 8.4), end of the West Memphis Block, where a former Frisco line heads off on the north side, past SSW Junction, where a former MoPac line trails in on the south side,  McLaughlin, a detector at MP 6.0, Sibley, Briark (MP 4.1), where the line trails into the south side of a former MoPAc line from Bald Knob (and used to continue to Hopefield on the west bank of the Mississippi, where there was a ferry crossing), the line turns southeast, and Two Main Tracks, CTC, start (20 mph on the turnout), for the Arkansas & Memphis Terminal & Bridge Company, a spur from CPS Chemical trailing in from the south, the flat crossing with the former Frisco line from Jonesboro, Springfield, MO, and Kansas City, at Bridge Junction (MP 3.4), with both lines then turning south-southeast, a crossover at Harahan, a crossover at CP-377.9 (MoPac milepost), the through truss Hanahan Bridge over the Mississippi River, a turn just north of due east, a connection to the former Frisco, running parallel on the south side, at Kansas Street, Kentucky Street (MP 1.2), (end-on) junction with the Seaboard System, a crossover, a junction with the Union Railway on the south side, Florida Street, where there is another junction with the former Frisco, a turn to the east, and a flat crossing with the Illinois Central north-south line at Old Tower 17, end-on junction with the former Southern, with the Seaboard and Southern line continuing east, alongside one another.
