Davenport to East Moline

From Missouri Division Junction (MP 183.7), where the Golden State Route line trails in on the south side of the line from Omaha,, the line heads east, double track, current-of-traffic, Automatic Block Signals, maximum speed 25 mph, in an urban landscape, on an embankment, past a bridge over a road, two extra tracks to the south at a lower level, a bridge over a street, six grade crossings, with a park on the south side at the last, three bridges over streets, and the former brick Union Depot on the south side at Davenport (MP 183.2).

The line turns south-southeast, onto the through truss Mississippi River Bridge (MP 182.0), which crosses city streets, the erstwhile Clinton, Davenport & Muscatine interurban, the joint Iowa, Chicago & Eastern and BNSF line along the west bank of the river, the Mississippi River (eight through truss spans), with Rock Island in the middle (including a bridge over a street), and a deck girder bridge over the second channel of the river into Illinois, to the junction and flat crossing( 20 mph on the crossing) with the east-west Iowa, Chicago & Eastern and BNSF line along the east bank of the river and an Iowa Interstate branch at Terminal Junction (MP 181.3), where the line turns east into Rock Island, with the four track Rock Island Yard on the north side and the brick depot at Rock Island (MP 181.1) on the south side.

The maximum speed rises to 50 mph, as the line continues curvily east, following the east bank of the Mississippi River, past Moline (MP 178.9), and 42nd Street, where the Davenport & Rock Island trails in on the north side, to the junction at East Moline (MP 175.1), where there is a spur to  John Deere Plant on the north side, a BN and Milwaukee line turns away north-northeast, a BN line heads east, and the Rock Island heads east-southeast.
