From the yard (20 mph speed restriction) at Inver Grove (MP 344.4), where a connector heads east, across bridge 3450 (maximum speed 10 mph) over the Mississippi River (MP 345.0) to Newport (MP 345.9), the main line continues along the west bank, Two Main Tracks, Automatic Block System, Rules 400 to 406, maximum speed 40 mph, with former CGW and St. Paul Southern lines to its west, past Q Junction and Park Junction, turning east-northeast to bridge over the river, then north to Hoffman Yard, and then west-northwest and west-southwest, along the south side of the other lines there, to St. Paul (MP 353.4).
