CP-River to Newtown Junction

From the crossovers and junction with the west leg of the wye with the Harrisburg Line, on the west side, at CP-River (MP 2.5), where the maximum speed drops to 20 mph, the bridge back across the river, and the junction with the north leg of the wye with the Harrisburg Line, crossing the river on a separate bridge, on the west side at CP-Laurel Hill (MP 2.9), the line heads north-northwest, Two Main Tracks, Rule 261, maximum speed 25 mph, past Bellevue (MP 3.1), and the bridge carrying the SEPTA (former Reading) Norristown Line overhead, and turning northeast, past the bridge carrying the SEPTA (former PRR) Chestnut Hill West Line overhead, the reduction to single track, Rule 261, at CP-Nice (MP 4.4), where the erstwhile former Reading line to Point Richmond Yard once left on the southeast side, the bridge carrying the SEPTA (former Reading) Main Line overhead, that line coming alongside to the northwest, at a higher level and gradually equalizing levels, and the expansion to Two Main Tracks, Rule 261, and crossovers (15 mph to/from the SEPTA line north; 30 mph to/from the SEPTA line south; 15 mph to/from the Trenton Line north) with the SEPTA Main Line at CP-Newtown Junction (MP 6.2), where the maximum speed rises to 60 mph for passenger trains and 40 mph for freight trains.
