From the the crossover and track separation at CP-Wyomissing Junction (MP 9.4), one line, single track, Rule 261, maximum speed 25 mph, passes CP-Valley Junction (MP 8.7), where the Harrisburg Line turns just east of due south and the Reading Line departs to the north, single track, Rule 261, maximum speed 25 mph, past the north apex of the wye with the Harrisburg Line at CP Tulp (MP 8.0), where Two Main Tracks, Rule 261, maximum speed 30 mph begin, turning northeast and bridging over the Schuylkill River and an erstwhile PRR line, before turning north to CP Belt (Belt Line Junction, MP 5.6).
The other line, double track, bridges over the track heading south from Valley Junction, the Schuylkill River, and an erstwhile PRR line, and turns just south of due east, with a 30 mph speed restriction from MP 59.7 to the west apex of a wye at Center (MP 59.8), where the Harrisburg Line turns south, where the erstwhile Reading Station used to be, and another branch of the Reading Line (actually, the Pottsville Branch at this point) heads north, single track, Rule 261, maximum speed 30 mph, past CP-Oley (MP 59.1), south end of the Reading Yard and Shops site, on the west side, and start of Running Track 2 (15 mph) on that side, Pike (MP 59.9), where the 11th Street Industrial Track (south end of the erstwhile line to Blandon) departs on the east side, and Water (MP 60.6), north end of the yard, where there is a crossover, turning just west of due north, past spurs on the west side, to CP Belt (Belt Line Junction, MP 5.6), where the Pottsville Branch trails in on the east side of the Reading Line, and the connection to the Reading & Northern main line departs on the west side.
The Reading Line turns just east of due north, past CP-West Laurel (MP 4.0), where an erstwhile PRR line once trailed in on the west side, the connection to the Reading & Northern's South Hamburg line (continuing that former PRR line) departs on the west side, and the Reading Line reduces to single track, and CP-Laurel (MP 3.5), where the Evansville Industrial Track departs on the west side, turning east-northeast, past a detector at "Blandon" (MP 0.8), CP-Blandon (MP 0.0/7.8), where an erstwhile line from Reading once trailed in on the east side (and is the source of the mileposts from here onwards, from Pike via that route), and Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251) starts, turning just north of due east at Fleetwood (MP 11.3), east-northeast past a crossover at Lyons (MP 14.9), and Bowers (MP 16.0), east at Topton (MP 18.7), where an Anthracite Railway line trails in on the north side, east-southeast past Hancock (MP 19.7) and Mertztown (MP 20.5), and east-northeast past Shamrock (MP 21.5).
