Jersey (Chattanooga) to Junta

From  the 2,000 ft. north side siding at Tyner/Jersey (MP 128.7), where there is a connector east onto the NS line to Knoxville, on which CSX has trackage rights, and the TVRM (former Southern) line bridges overhead, the line turns just east of due south, single track, CTC, maximum speed 60 mph, climbing at an acute angle up the side and over the mountain ridges in the Chattanooga area, past a turn southeast and then south again, with a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 124.7 to MP 122.9, a turn just south of due east, southeast, and south-southeast, with a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 122.9 to MP 118.9, past the border between Tennessee and Georgia, and the 6,435 ft. north side siding at Graysville (MP 120.1), a turn east, south-southeast, east, and then south, with a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 118.9 to MP 118.0, after which the full line speed prevails past Ringgold.

There is a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 115.5 to MP 114.1, as the line turns east, and a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 114.1 to MP 112.9, as the line turns south, after which the full line speed prevails, a turn just east of due south, past a detector at "Ringgold" (MP 109.9), a turn east-southeast, with a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 108.0 to MP 106.2, as the line climbs over the easternmost of the mountain ridges, past the 6,380 ft. south side siding at Tunnel Hill (MP 106.7) and Chattanooga Mountain Tunnel, curvily south with a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 106.2 to MP 105.8, a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 105.8 to MP 101.3, past Rock Face, a turn southeast, east, and then south again, with a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 101.3 to MP 99.6 and then a 25 mph speed restriction from MP 99.6 to MP 98.7 for the 4,125 ft. north side siding and the flat crossing (MP 99.0, 25 mph on the crossing) with southwest quadrant connector with the NS line to Atlanta at Dalton (MP 98.7), followed by a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 98.7 to MP 95.7, after which the full line speed prevails.

The line follows the east side of the NS Atlanta line for awhile, curving just west of due south, before turning away south and then southeast past the 3,135 ft. north side siding at Tilton (MP 89.6), curvily south past a detector at "Resaca" (MP 88.4), Tildale, the 9,406 ft. south side siding at Resaca (MP 83.8), a 35 mph speed restriction through Calhoun, from MP 79.1 to MP 77.3, the 3,795 ft. south side siding at McDaniels (MP 74.7), the 3,080 ft. south side siding at Adairsville (MP 68.0), a detector at "Adairsville" (MP 67.6), and the 3,640 ft. south side siding at Halls (MP 63.1), before turning south-southwest, south, and then abruptly east, with a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 59.2 to MP 56.0, where an erstwhile branch from Rome once trailed in from the west, at the 5,665 ft. south side siding at Kingston (MP 57.8).

There is a turn southeast, east to Cass, and then south-southeast, past Rodgers, the wye on the south side with a connector to the Cartersville sub. at Bowen (MP 50.1), a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 49.7 to MP 48.0, the 3,905 ft. south side siding starting at North Junta (MP 49.0), the west leg of the W&A wye on the north side at W&A Wye (MP 48.6), and the junction at Junta (MP 48.1), where the Knoxville line trails into the north side of the Western & Atlantic (later NC&StL) line between Chattanooga and Atlanta.
