Memphis to  McKenzie

From Kentucky Street (MP 229.4), where there was once a wye on the north side with the erstwhile trackage to the erstwhile Union Station, parallel UP (MoPac) and BNSF (Frisco) lines that were once used by Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis trains, head east past the flat crossing with the double track Illinois Central main line at Broadway/Texas Street/Tower 17 (MP 229.1), jogging southeast and then east again, past Neptune Street (MP 227.7), where the BNSF line turns away southeast, and KC Junction (MP 227.2), where a second track starts, an NS line trails in from the northwest and crosses on the flat (governed by Stop Signs on both lines) to head away southeast, and the UP Sargent Yard starts on the south side, reaching east to Cox Street (MP 225.2), turning east-northeast to the junction at Cordova Branch (MP 224.0), where there is a 1,145 ft. siding, the former NC&StL continues east and the main line turns north, at the adjacent Aulon (MP 373.4, where Two Main Tracks, CTC, Yard Limits, maximum speed 30 mph, start, joint with the IC, past RS (MP 371.4), the south/west end of Leewood Yard, where there is a crossover and a wye on the west side with  the rump of the former L& N line to Mud Island, through the middle of which the double track IC heads north to its Hollywood yard and the former L&N single track, Yard Limits, maximum speed 10 mph, turns east-northeast, past Leewood Yard, on the north side, the east end of which is at Leewood (MP 368.8).

The line now becomes single track, Direct Traffic Control, unsignaled, maximum speed 49 mph, in the Leewood Block, past a 30 mph speed restriction through Wells, from MP 366.1 and MP 361.5, turning curvily northeast, past a 300 ft. north-side east-facing spur at Bartlett (MP 365.5), the end of the Leewood Block and start of the Bartlett Block at MP 360.0, Ellendale, Brunswick, a detector at "Arlington" (MP 352.1), the end of the Bartlett Block and start of the Arlington Block at MP 351.5, west end of the 3,100 ft. south-side siding at Arlington (MP 351.4), the 6-car north-facing spur at Galloway (MP 348.0), Braden, the end of the Arlington Block and start of the Mason Block at MP 340.9, Mason (MP 340.5), a 35 mph speed restriction, at MP 340.4, Keeling, a detector at "Stanton" (MP 333.1), the end of the Mason Block and start of the Stanton Block at MP 332.0, Shepp, a turn north and then northeast again, the end of the Stanton Block and start of the Lasco Block at MP 322.0, a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 319.6 to MP 317.7, the 8,965 ft. south-side siding at Brownsville (MP 317.8), end of the Laso Block and start of the Brownsville Block, the end of the Brownsville Block and start of the Haywood Block at MP 316.2, east end of the siding, Allens, and Cobbs.

There is a detector at "Jones" (MP 309.6), the end of the Haywood Block and start of the Bells Block at MP 307.2, west end of the 1,980 ft. siding at Bells (MP 306.7), where an erstwhile Gulf, Mobile & Northern line once crossed, a 40 mph speed restriction, from MP 306.7 to MP 306.0, Fruitvale, Gadsden, the end of the Bells Block and start of the Humboldt Block at MP 295.2, west end of the 2,695 ft. north-side siding at Humboldt  (MP 294.7), a flat crossing (30 mph on the crossing), with a south quadrant connector, with the (former Mobile & Ohio) West Tennessee Railroad (MP 294.6), governed by Stop Signs on both lines, a 45 mph speed restriction at the Highway 45 Crossing (MP 294.2), Gatewood, the end of the Humboldt Block and start of the Gibson Block at MP 289.2, Gibson, a 40 mph speed restriction at MP 289.0, a detector at "Gibson" (MP 288.3), Forcum, a 35 mph speed restriction, through Milan, from MP 283.8 to MP 283.4, a flat crossing (25 mph on the crossing), with a southeast quadrant connector, with the NS Fulton to Corinth line (MP 283.3), governed by Stop Signs on both lines, the 3,960 ft. south-side siding at Milan (MP 283.3), a 35 mph speed restriction, still through Milan, from MP 283.3 to MP 282.7, and the end of the Gibson Block and start of the Milan Block at MP 282.4, east end of the siding.

A connector from the extensive trackage at the Milan Arsenal trails in from the south at Wolf Creek, and the line continues northeast, past Atwood, a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 274.0 to MP 272.3, the end of the Milan Block and start of the Trezevant Block at MP 271.9, west end of the 8,965 ft. north-side siding at Trezevant, the end of the Trezevant Block and start of the Carroll Block at MP 270.3, east end of the siding, Trezevant (MP 270.2), a detector at "Jarrell" (MP 268.6), a 20 mph speed restriction, from MP 263.4 to MP 116.7, and McKenzie (MP 263.2//116.7), where there was once a flat crossing with south and west quadrant connectors with an NC&StL line between Hickman (on the Mississippi River's east bank) and Nashville, but is now just a junction, with both connectors remaining, where the main line turns onto the former NC&StL towards Nashville, with a stub of the former line trailing in from the northwest, the Carroll Block becomes the Hico Block and the speed restriction rises to 25 mph to MP 115.5.
