Sterling to Alliance

From the junction at Sterling (MP 57.5/115.1), where the speed limit is 20 mph on the junction, an erstwhile CB&Q line from Cheyenne once trailed in on the west side, and a former CB&Q line to Holdridge, NE, heads away east, the UP line to Julesburg turns away on the east side, and the BNSF line to Alliance heads away on the west side, with both lines continuing north-northeast to the UP line's Ceres, where it turns northeast, and the BNSF line's Ackerman (MP 113.2), where it turns north, single track, Restricted Limits, speed limit 50 mph, past North Sterling (MP 112.1), Ginther (MP 106.1), where CTC starts, a detector at MP 104.5, Padroni (MP 104.3), and the 7,108 ft. siding at Buchanan (MP 98.3), turning curvily just east of due north, east, and then just east of due north past the 8,855 ft. siding at Peetz (MP 90.0), the border between Colorado and Nebraska, a detector at MP 85.9, the 7,116 ft. siding at Lorenzo (MP 83.0), and a detector at MP 82.1, turning curvily northeast past a detector at MP 77.5, a bridge over Lodgepole Creek, a turn just north of due east, and a connector turning away north to the UP Transcontinental Main Line (Overland Route) at Sidney (MP 75.4).

The line turns north, bridging over the UP line, and passing a detector at MP 72.6, the 8,314 ft. siding at Huntsman (MP 69.2), where there is a wye junction on the west side with a line west to the Huntsman Industrial Center (formerly a US Army line serving the erstwhile Big Sioux Ammunition Depot), Marlow, a detector at MP 66.7, Gurley (MP 62.3), a detector at MP 61.5, a detector at MP 57.8, and the 7,118 ft. siding at Dalton (MP 56.4), turning curvily north-northwest, past a detector at MP 52.5, north-northeast past Simla, and just west of due north past a detector at MP 46.8, the 7,119 ft. siding at Mudd Springs (MP 44.2), and a detector at MP 39.4, northwest past the 7,117 ft. siding at  Bridgeport (MP 35.5), where the speed limit has fallen to 35 mph, and north past the flat crossing with the UP coal line between South Morrill and O-Fallons, at UP Crossing (MP 34.4), where the speed limit has fallen to 25 mph, a detector at MP 33.9, and the wye junction with the BNSF coal line from the south end of the Powder River Basin line at Bridger Junction, at Northport (MP 33.8).

The line turns just east of due north, just west of due north, just east of due north past Vance (MP 26.4), where the speed limit has risen to 35 mph, north-northeast, north-northwest, north-northeast past the 18,840 ft. siding at Angora (MP 20.3), where the speed limit is back to 50 mph, a detector at MP 16.1, the 8,745 ft. siding at Bonner (MP 13.1), Letan (MP 6.9), where Two Main Tracks, CTC, start and the line turns just east of due north, crossovers at South Alliance, where Restricted Limits start, Prairie (MP 3.0), where a connector to the line east departs on the east side, South Wye (MP 0.7), where the speed limit is 10 mph, there is a connector into the Alliance yard to the east, and a wye with the main line between Gillette and Lincoln, and Third Street (MP 0.3), northwest apex of that wye, where the line is CTC.
