Lexington to SJ Tower

From the junction with the former Southern line from Lawrenceburg, KY (now run by the Lexington & Ohio Railroad) at Lexington (MP 81.7), the line heads south-southwest, Two Main Tracks, Automatic Block Signals, Traffic Control, maximum speed 60 mph for intermodal trains and 50mph for freight trains, but local restriction 35 mph on curves to MP 81.8, past a speed restriction to 40 mph on curves between MP 81.8 and MP 82.0, where full line speed resumes, a speed restriction to 40 mph over street crossings between MP 82.4 and MP 83.2, crossovers at Rosemont (MP 83.2, 40 mph on the turnout), the start of Single Track, TC, at Bishop (MP 85.6, 40 mph on the turnout), a detector at "Bishop" (MP 87.8), Brannon and Catnip Hill.

There is extra track at Nicholasville (MP 93.0), where an erstwhile L&N line between Frankfort and Ravenna once crossed on the flat, and the line turns curvily west-southwest, past the resumption of Two Main Tracks, TC, at Jessamine (MP 95.7, 40 mph on the turnout), a turn south-southwest, crossovers at Wilmore (MP 98.2, 40 mph on the turnout) and detectors at "Wilmore" (MP 98.4), a gradual turn to the west, followed by a speed restriction to 55-50 on curves between MP 101.6 and MP 102.7 as the line turns just west of due south, past crossovers at  the trestle over the Kentucky River at High Bridge (MP 102.5, 40 mph on the turnouts), a speed restriction to 45 mph on curves between MP 102.7 and MP 103.2, a speed restriction to 40 mph on curves between MP 103.2 and MP 103.5, a speed restriction to 45 mph on curves between MP 103.5 and MP 103.7, and a speed restriction to 50 mph on curves between MP 103.7 and MP 104.6, where full line speeds prevail.

Single track starts again at Brown (MP 105.0, 40 mph on the turnout), aka Curtisville, where there is extra track, and the line edges just east of due south and then turns southwest, with a speed restriction to 55-50 on curves between MP 105.7 and MP 106.0 and a speed restriction to 50-45 on curves between MP 106.0 and MP 106.5, where full line speeds prevail, past Burgin, where a connection from Harrodsburg on the Louisville line once trailed in from the west, turning south with a speed restriction to 55-50 on curves between MP 108.3 and MP 108.6, past a detector at "Burgin" (MP 109.0), the resumption of 2MT at Faulkner (MP 110.7, 40 mph on the turnout), and Faulconer.

The former Southern line from Louisville trails into the former CNO&TP line from Lexington and Cincinnati from the northwest at SJ Tower (MP 113.2), where there are crossovers (40 mph on the turnouts).
