Metro Junction to Pauls Valley

From West Wye (MP 385.6), the west apex of a wye on the east side with the former Santa Fe (now Kansas City Southern) line south-southeast into Dallas, and Metro (MP 387.6), where the east leg of that wye trails in from the south and the line turns northeast with an 8,179 ft. east side siding immediately north of the wye, single track, CTC, with speed limit 55 mph, past dual road bridges overhead, a bridge over a road, a dirt road grade crossing, two bridges over streams, a dirt road to the east, where the line turns somewhat-curvily north, Intermediate Signals, a detector at MP 391.6, two grade crossings, Sanger (MP 392.2), a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, a gated dirt track grade crossing, Intermediate Signals at MP 394.2, a grade crossing in town, a grade crossing, two bridges over streams, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a bridge over a 'river', the 8,204 ft. east side siding at Valley View (MP 400.8), with a grade crossing in the siding and a divided road to the west, two dirt road grade crossings, the road the the west edging away, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, an embankment, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, Fair Plains, two dirt road grade crossings, a dirt track grade crossing to a farm, three bridges over streams, two grade crossings, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, two grade crossings, a grade crossing at California Street, the passenger station, with platform and brick depot to the west, at Gainesville (MP 411.3?), where an erstwhile MKT line once crossed on the flat and the line turns north-northwest, a grade crossing at Broadway (MP 410.8), and signals just north of the grade crossing (MP 411.3?).

The farming countryside is quite uninteresting, past a siding on the east side (is this at MP 411.3?), two grade crossings in the siding, a spur trailing in from the east, a dirt road grade crossing in the siding, six yard tracks east of the siding, dual road bridges overhead within the yard, the yard lead moving away, an angled grade crossing in the siding, the yard lead returning on the east side, a spur to industry on the east side, dual road bridges overhead, a spur to industry on teh east side, the north end of the siding,  a spur on the east side (MP 414.0) for a Borden Chemical Plant, a dirt road grade crossing, a detector at MP 414.5, where there is and the line turns curvily just east of due north, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a bridge over a culvert, an embankment, a 45 mph speed restriction on curves between MP 417.7 and MP 418.2, the interesting Red River crossing, where the line crosses from Texas into Oklahoma, with a 45 mph speed restriction on the multi-span through-truss bridge between MP 418.3 and MP 418.5.

The climb into Oklahoma begins with a 50 mph speed restriction on the curves between MP 418.6 and MP 422.3, past an embankment with a bridge over a dirt road, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals,  in a wooded area, a detector at MP 422.1, a grade crossing, the 8,053 ft. west side siding at Thackerville (MP 423.1), with a road alongside to the east and three grade crossings within the siding, the road turning away, a bridge over a road, a dirt track grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, a grade crossing, Bomar, where the line turns north, four bridges over drainage, a grade crossing, the 10,025 ft. east side siding at Marietta (MP 433.1), with extra track to the east and two grade crossings in the siding, a wooded area, Intermediate Signals, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 437.5, two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, a curve north-northwest and then north again, the 6.427 ft. west side siding at Overbrook (MP 443.0), with a bridge over a stream, a dirt road grade crossing, and a bridge over drainage in the siding, two grade crossings, MP 445, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, dual road bridges overhead, Cemetery Boulevard alongside to the east, a grade crossing, a (former?) spur at Western Company (MP 448.6), and the south end of a siding on the east side at Ardmore.

There was once a 30 mph speed restriction between MP 449.3 and MP 451.3, past the (still extant?) Ardmore Industrial lead (MP 449.6), with a 25 mph speed restriction on the erstwhile gated flat crossing, with a southwest quadrant connector (no sign of either remaining in May, 2010), with the former Frisco line between MP 449.7 and MP 451.0, as the line turns northeast, a grade crossing in the siding, a bridge over a road (MP 449.77) within the siding, a grade crossing with 2nd Avenue (MP 450.10), two tracks (siding and main) splitting off on the east side, with extra track in between and extra track on the west side, from the 5,731 ft. west side siding (platfrom track), with six yard tracks now between the main and ther passenger track, past a grade crossing and the  passenger station (stucco and brick depot to the west) at Ardmore (MP 450.4).

The line passes a grade crossing, a road bridge overhead (and over the yard), a grade crossing, the tracks coming back together (MP 451) at the north end of all sidings and ayrd tracks, a former junction with an erstwhile Rock Island line heading east, a street alongside to the east, a grade crossing as the street turns away, a bridge over a road, a road bridge overhead, a dirt road grade crossing, extra track for the Total Refinery on the west side, Intermediate Signals at MP 452.x, a 50 mph speed restriction on the curves between MP 453.2 and MP 459.3, as the line turns north, past a bridge over a stream, Intermediate Signals at MP 455.2, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing,  and a detector at MP 457.7, then just north of due east, and then north again, with a 45 mph speed restriction on the curve between MP 459.6 and MP 460.3, past the 6,443 ft. west side siding at Gene Autry (MP 460.3), with a grade crossing, a dirt road grade crossing, a grade crossing, and extra track to the east, all within the siding, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, and a spur trailing in on the east side at Ardmore Air Park (MP 461.1).

There is a grade crossing, a 45 mph speed restriction on the curve between MP 462.0 and MP 462.6, a 35 mph speed restriction on the curves between MP 462.8 and MP 466.4, as the line turns curvily north-northeast, a bridge over a stream, a gated dirt track grade crossing, an embankment, a bridge over a river, Intermediate Signals at MP 464.2, a spur on the east side at Crusher (MP 466.4), where there is a building over a 'cliff' that looks like it once overhung a track on the level below, perhaps used for loading hopper cars, a 50 mph speed restriction on the curve between MP 467.3 and MP 467.5, a dirt road alongside to the east, the river to the west, north-facing extra track to the east, a bridge over a stream, the river moving away to the west, two dirt track grade crossings, and a bridge over a stream/river.

The line turns north-northwest in the latter span, and then passes the 8,599 ft. siding at Dougherty (MP 469.6), with a grade crossing at Main Street in the siding, three bridges over streams, Intermediate Signals at MP 472.2, a bridge over a stream, a gated dirt road grade crossing, and the Rayford Storage Track (MP 473.3), turning just west of due north in a hilly, wooded, area, with a 50 mph speed restriction on the curve between MP 473.7 and MP 475.1, past a bridge over drainage, a rocky cutting, the river to the west again, Intermediate Signals at MP 475.0, a grade crossing, a road bridge overhead, the 9,225 ft. west side siding at Davis (MP 478.0), where a branch to Scullin once headed east, with a dirt road grade crossing, a grade crossing, an old wooden depot to the east, and a grade crossing, all within the siding, a bridge over a stream, two dirt road grade crossings, two bridges over streams, a dirt road grade crossing, a dirt road alongside to the east, a dirt road grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, two dirt road grade crossings, a detector at MP 482.6, as the line turns north, a 30 mph speed restriction on the crossings between MP 487.7 and MP 488.3, the 8,803 ft. east side siding at Wynnewood (MP 488.1), with extra track to the east for the refinery there, and more extra track north of the refinery, all within the siding, Gulf Junction, where a line to Shawnee once headed away northeast (and a stub remains), a grade crossing in town, a grade crossing, two dirt road grade crossings, a bridge over a river, two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, and the 8,054 ft.  east side siding at Pauls Valley (MP 495.6), with a bridge over a stream in the siding, two grade crossings, the passenger station (brick depot to the west) at Pauls Valley (MP 495.6), two grade crossings, a street to the east, a grade crossing, and a former junction where a line to Chickasha once headed away west-northwest (with a stub remaining).
