Pauls Valley to Oklahoma City

From Gulf Junction, where a line to Shawnee once headed away northeast (and a stub remains), a grade crossing in town, a grade crossing, two dirt road grade crossings, a bridge over a river, two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, and the 8,054 ft.  east side siding at Pauls Valley (MP 495.6), with a bridge over a stream in the siding, two grade crossings, the passenger station (brick depot to the west) at Pauls Valley (MP 495.6), two grade crossings, a street to the east, a grade crossing, and a former junction where a line to Chickasha once headed away west-northwest (with a stub remaining as the 14,050 ft. Pauls Valley Industrial Lead, MP 496.1), the single track, CTC, line with speed limit 55 mph, heads northwest, past a bridge over the river, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, and two dirt track grade crossings, and turning north again past the 8,229 ft. east side siding at Paoli (MP 502.6).

The line turn west-northwest, with a 50 mph speed restriction on curves between MP 504.5 and MP 506.7, past a grade crossing,  a detector (box on the east side) at MP 505.7, and then curvily north, northwest past the river nearby to the east, a bridge over an angled road, a bridge over a road angled the other way, the 8,297 ft. east side siding at Wayne (MP 510.2), with a grade crossing, extra track to the east, and two more grade crossings, all within the siding, a grade crossing, a road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, the road curving away, a dirt track grade crossing, a 50 mph speed restriction on curves between MP 513.2 and MP 515.4 as the line curves north again through a wooded area, a bridge over the river, the south end of the west side platform track at Purcell, three yard tracks to the east, a grade crossing across the yard and siding, a stucco and brick depot on the west side at Purcell (MP 517.5 from Galveston/417.3 from Kansas City), where the GC&SF, coming north, met the Santa Fe, coming south, a long deck girder bridge overhead that once carried an erstwhile east-west Santa Fe line, and the north end of the yard and platform track.

There is a 50 mph speed restriction on the curve between MP 416.5 and MP 415.8, with detectors (no report from either in May, 2010) at MP 416.2 and MP 414.5, along the Canadian River (east side of the line), a turn just west of due north, a dirt road grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over the river, in a quite scenic wooded area alongside the river, with the track curving back and forth as the river valley curves, a curve north again with the river to the west, the 9,075 ft. west side siding at Noble (MP 408.1), where the river turns away, with a dirt road grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, and a (former?) 40 mph speed restriction on the road crossing between MP 409.7 and MP 409.6, all within the siding, a pond to the east, and detectors (no report from either in May, 2010) at MP  407.4 and MP 405.4.

The line turns north-northwest, past four grade crossings in a wooded area dual road bridges overhead, a detector at MP 404.2, a grade crossing, a bridge over a streama 40 mph speed restriction on the road crossing between MP 402.8 and MP 402.7, a 45 mph speed restriction on road crossings between MP 402.7 and MP 399.6, through Norman, starting with a grade crossing, a grade crossing at Boyd Street, a grade crossing, a street to the east, a grade crossing just south of the passenger station (brick depot and brick platform to the east) at Norman (MP 401.8), a grade crossing, the 6,678 ft. west side siding at Norman, with two grade crossings in the siding,  a spur on the east side for Tyler Simpson at MP 400.2, a road alongside to the west, three grade crossings (still within the 45 mph speed restriction), and a 50 mph speed restriction on the road crossing between MP 398.8 and MP 398.7.

The line turns north again, past a bridge over a street, a detector at MP 395.5, a grade crossing, a bridge over a road, the 8,351 ft. east side siding at Moore (MP 393.2), with two grade crossings in the siding, a 50 mph speed restriction on the road crossing between MP 392.5 and MP 392.4, the 8,460 ft. east side siding at Flynn (MP 390.5), with a bridge over a street below, a track curving away east (perhaps the Flynn Industrial Spurs at MP 388.8), extra track to the east, a "crossover", a bridge over a divided highway, a spur trailing in from the east (otehr end of the Flynn Industrial Spurs?), and a grade crossing, all within the siding, a bridge over a street, a wide angled road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, the flat crossing at GM Crossover (MP 388.8), where there is also a wye on the east side with the track east to the GM Assembly Plant, and the line turns just west of due north, Two Main Tracks, CTC, a 50 mph speed restriction on the four road crossings between MP 387.2 and MP 385.7, and Burnett (MP 385.7), where a branch heads west to the A.C.Humko National Stockyards.

There is a 20 mph speed restriction on the curves between MP 385.7 and MP 380.7, a grade crossing, a bridge over a river, a connector departing on the west side and then curving underneath as the main line rises up on an embankment, joining the former Frisco line passing below, streets alongside to the east and west, the former MKT/Rock Island line passing below, a rail-served plant on the east side of the line, dual road bridges overhead (I-40?), a bridges over a street below, start of the platform siding on the west side, a bridge over a street below, a second platform siding on the west side,the passenger station (island platform with umbrella sheds between the two platform tracks, sculptured concrete block depot at a lower level) on the concrete embankment at Oklahoma City (MP 384.0), where the line is double track, ABS, Rule 94 (Yard Limits?), and a bridge over a street below.
