Vincennes to Mitchell

From the signaled flat crossings with the double track former C&EI line to Evansville, and 2,900 ft. south side siding at Vincennes (MP 188.5), the line heads curvily east, single track, Direct Traffic Control, (but Yard Limits to MP 187.0), maximum speed 60 mph (but local restriction 25 mph through Vincennes, to MP 186.9, past MP 187.0, where Yard Limits end and the Wheat Block starts, MP 186.9, where the full line speed prevails, a 3,900 ft. north side siding at Fritchton (MP 183.3), a 4,550 ft. south side siding at Wheatland (MP 176.7), MP 176.1, where the Wheat Bock ends and the Wash Block starts, and a through truss bridge at MP 174.12.

Yard Limits and a 35 mph speed restriction start at MP 171.8, past the flat crossing with the former Conrail Evansville line, now run by a shortline, at Chappel (MP 171.4), the 4,500 ft. north side siding at Washington (MP 170.4), the end of Yard Limits and start of CTC at MP 170.2, a detector at "Blackoak" (MP 168.0), where the full line speed prevails, the 4,000 ft. north side siding at Montgomery (MP 162.5), Cannelbrug, a 20 mph speed restriction through Loogootee, from MP 155.7 to MP 155, and the 9,000 ft. south side siding at Loogootee (MP 155.5), where the line starts a very curvy stretch, turning northeast, with a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 152 to MP 150.3, just south of due east, and then south-southeast with a counter-clockwise horseshoe back to northeast, and then clockwise to south-southeast again, all with a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 150.3 to MP 147.3.

There is a 3,450 ft. north side siding at Martin (MP 147.7), a turn east-southeast, with a 30 mph speed restriction through Shoals, from MP 147.3 to MP 146.7, Shoals (MP 147.0), a curvily east stretch, with a 45 mph speed restriction from MP 146.7 to MP 140.4, including a turn just east of due north, a detector at "Shoals" (MP 143.5), a turn curvily northeast through a tunnel and past Willow Valley (MP 141.4), turning curvily east, with a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 140.4,past the 3,800 ft. south side siding at Huron (MP 138.0), to MP 133.4, where the full line speed prevails, the 4,100 ft. south side siding at Georgia (MP 131.9), where the line turns curvily just north of due east, and a 30 mph speed restriction through Mitchell, from MP 126.7 to MP 125.8, the 10,900 ft. north side siding at Mitchell (MP 126.4), end of CTC and start of Yard Limits, and a flat crossing with the former Monon line from Chicago to Louisville, which now only reaches as far north as Bedford.
