From the junction with the UP Hearne sub., the Palestine sub. from Houston, running here on the former route of the Texas State Railroad, at West Junction (MP 82.7), where the speed limit is 30 mph, dropping to 20 mph as the line turns just east of due north the line turns just north of due east into Palestine (MP 81.4), where there is a yard and the former location of a wye on the south side with the line from Houston, which has been diverted away from this short segment, single track, CTC, past a hold out signal at MP 81.0, turning east-northeast, curvily northeast past Wells Creek (MP 76.6), additional track at Alcoa Spur (MP 73.9) where the eponymous spur once headed southeast, a detector at MP 73.7, and the 8,873 ft. siding at Neches (MP 70.5 - MP 68.7), where the speed limit has risen to 50 mph, and curvily east-northeast past Prices, a detector at MP 64.0, Ironton, and the 8,324ft. siding at Hume (MP 58.7 - MP 57.0).
Both a Texas & New Orleans line (later SP), from northwest to southeast, and a Cotton Belt line, from north to south, once crossed on the flat at Jacksonville (MP 53.2), where the speed limit is 35 mph, and the line turns north at Mittie, past a detector at MP 51.4, where the speed limit is 45 mph, to the 8,600 ft. siding at Tecula (MP 49.4 - MP 47.7), within which the line turns curvily east, where the speed limit is 50 mph, and later turns curvily north-northeast past Gunder, a detector at MP 40.3, where the speed limit is 60 mph, the 8,923 ft. siding at Troup (MP 37.0, where the speed limit is 50 mph, to MP 35.0, where the speed limit is 60 mph), where there is a junction with the Tyler Industrial Lead, heading northwest from within the siding, and a detector at MP 31.4, where the speed limit is 50 mph.
The line turns east, and then curvily northeast past Arp, the 7,061 ft. siding at Overton (MP 23.7, where the speed limit is 60 mph, to MP 22.3, where the speed limit is 50 mph), where there is a junction with the Henderson Industrial Lead trailing in from the southeast, a detector at MP 19.2, where the speed limit is 60 mph, Reeds, the 7,893 ft. siding at Kilgore (MP 12.0 - MP 10.3), where the speed limit has fallen to 50 mph, Kinsloe, a detector at MP 4.9, a bridge over the Sabine River, Bodie (MP 2.9), where the speed limit has fallen to 40 mph, Union Tankcar, and the beginning of the yard at Longview (MP 1.1), where the LeTourneau Industrial lead trails in from the south.
The former International Great Northern (the current UP line from Houston, Austin and San Antonio, covered in this description) joins with the former T&P from Dallas at Longview Junction (MP 0.2), where 2MT, CTC, start and the speed limit falls to 25 mph, and the line continues east past a bridge over a street and the passenger station at Longview (MP 0.0), where the depot is on the south side, with erstwhile east end bay platforms on the south side, east of the depot, and there are yard tracks on the north side, and crossovers, with speed limit 60 mph.
