Bement to Fort Wayne

From the crossovers (45 mph on the crossovers) at Bement (MP 355.4), where an erstwhile Wabash line once trailed in from the south  and a former Wabash line heads away north (40 mph on the turnout), with the erstwhile IT r-o-w turning with it, on its east side, the Detroit line continues, double track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), Automatic Block Signals, maximum speed 60 mph, just north of due east, past the end of double track (45 mph on the turnout) and start of Traffic Control (CTC) at East Bement (MP 353.3), Piatt, Ivesdale (MP 348.6), a detector at MP 348.0, the 7,984 ft. siding at Sloan (MP 345.6), a detector at MP 343.2, Sadorus (MP 342.5), the start of Yasrd Limits at MP 339.3, the 15,773 ft. siding and flat crossing (40 mph on the crossing) with the Illinois Central main line at Tolono (MP 338.0), the end of YArd Limits at MP 336.0, Philo (MP 332.2), the 5,917 ft. siding at Sidney (MP 327.6), where an erstwhile Wabash line form Champaign once trailed in on the north side, the bridge carrying the line over the former Chicago & Eastern Illinois main line, a detector at MP 325.9, a detector at MP 323.4, the 6,554 ft. siding at Homer (MP 321.5), Fairmount, the 7.148 ft. siding at Ryan (MP 313.3), where there was once a flat crossing with an erstwhile C&EI line, and a detector at MP 309.3, turning northeast past Catlin, NT Junction (MP 306.7), where double track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), Automatic Block Signals, resumes (40 mph on the turnout), the start of Yard Limtis at MP 306.8, a grade crossing at H Street (MP 303.9), where a 30 mph speed restriction starts, and the yard at Tilton (MP 303.8), bridging over the former Milwaukee Road, and turning north-northeast, past the location of a bridge over an erstwhile Illinois Terminal line, the Wabash station at Danville (MP 301.6), and the Danville Yard.

An erstwhile former C&EI line once trailed in on the east side at Danville Junction, where the 30 mph speed restriction ends, there is a flat crossing (25 mph on the crossing) with the former Peoria & Eastern (MP 300.8), with the former C&EI (now CSX) line trailing in on the east side and then turning away north at North Junction (MP 300.4), where the former Wabash turns northeast, past Newell, where a connector to the former Milwaukee Road departs on the north side and the line once bridged over the erstwhile former Milwaukee Road, the end of Yard Limits at MP 296.4, the end of double track (40 mph on the turnout) and start of TC at Eldan (MP 296.2), a detector at MP 295.0, State Line (MP 294.2), where the line passes from Illinois into Indiana, Johnsonville, and the 5,692 ft. siding at Marshfield (MP 288.7), turning east past West Lebanon (MP 284.9), where the line once bridged over an erstwhile Illinois Central line that then trailed in on the south side, northeast past Williamsport (MP 280.5), a detector at MP 280.4, and a grade crossing at Monroe Street (25 mph on the crossing), just south of due east, where an erstwhile former C&EI line once trailed in from the north, past a 40 mph speed restriction from MP 278 to MP 277, over the bridge over the Wabash River, to the 8,887 ft. siding at Attica (MP 276.8), with a 25 mph speed restriction, where the erstwhile former C&EI line headed away south and the former Wabash turns east-northeast, with a 25 mph speed restriction on the curve from MP 276.5 to MP 276.3.

The line now runs up the south side of the Wabash River valley, past Riverside (MP 272.2), a detector at MP 270.8, where it turns just north of due east, the 12,889 ft. siding at West Point (MP 265.3), Shadeland, where it turns northeast, a bridge over the former Monon, where it turns east-northeast, the start of Yard Limits at MP 258.9, West Demun (MP 257.7), where the west leg of a wye (30 mph on that leg of the wye) on the south side with the former Big Four and Lake Erie & Western turns away, the east leg of that wye at Lafayette Junction (MP 257.2), where that line continues north and the former Wabash turns northeast, double track (30 mph on the turnout), current-of-traffic (Rule 251), Automatic Block Signals, with the former routing of the Monon on its north side, a 25 mph speed restriction through Lafayette, from MP 256.5 to MP 254, Lafayette (MP 255.4), a turn east-northeast again at East Yard (MP 253.1), where single track, TC, resumes (30 mph on the turnout), and there is a spur on the south side to the Caterpillar Plant and the Alcoa Plant, the end of Yard Limits at MP 253, the 5,777 ft. siding at Buck Creek (MP 247.4), a turn just east of due north, past the 12,943 ft. siding at Colburn (MP 243.8), northeast past a detector at MP 240.9, north-northeast (45 mph on the curve at MP 239.4) to Delphi (MP 238.6), where a former Monon branch once trailed in from the north and then departed to the south as the former Wabash turns northeast again (35 mph on the curves from MP 238.9 to MP 238.5).

There is an 8,804 ft. siding at Rockfield (MP 232.1), Burrows, a detector at MP 220.5, the angled flat crossing with a former PRR line at Clymers (MP 224.5), the 12,457 ft. siding at Clymers Siding (MP 224.3), a bridge over an erstwhile segment of PRR line and the Wabash River, as it turns east-northeast (25 mph on the curve from MP 219.2 and MP 218.5), a flat crossing with the current routing of the former PRR 'panhandle' line at Logansport, a turn just south of due east, the yard and 5,320 ft. siding at Logansport (MP 218.5), a spur to the Transco Shops on the south side, a turn just north of due east, following the north side of the Wabash River, the 13,028 ft. siding at Danes (MP 213.0), a turn just south of due east, New Waverly, a detector at MP 209.5, a 50 mph speed restriction on the curve at MP 205, and West Peru (MP 204.5), where Yard Limits start, the erstwhile C&O of Indiana once trailed in on the north side, and the line goes from single track, ABS, to double track (25 mph on the turnout), ABS, and Yard Limits start, with a 25 mph speed restriction through Peru (MP 204.3 to MP 202.2).

The erstwhile C&O of Indiana once left on the south side as the line turns just north of due east, past the yard at Peru (MP 202.5), where an erstwhile Lake Erie & Western line once trailed in from the south, and then left at a wye on the north side, turning east past the start of single track (35 mph on the turnout), Traffic Control and end of Yard Limits at Junction (MP 200.2), where the maximum speed becomes 60 mph again and Menzie, curvily east-northeast past a 45 mph speed restriction on the curve at Rich Valley, from MP 196.3 to MP 196.05, Hartman, a spur at Elevator Track (MP 194.3), a 25 mph speed restriction through Wabash, from MP 190.4 to MP 188.2, where the line runs northeast with a former Big Four line trailing in from the south and departing to the north, a 30-car spur at Wabash (MP 188.8), as the line turns curvily east-northeast again, still following the north side of the Wabash River, and a spur at Conrail Interchange (MP 187.9), where the former Big Four departs.

There is a 14,341 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Lagro (MP 183.2), where there is a 30-car spur, a detector at "Lagro" (MP 181.6), a bridge over the river, a 50 mph speed restriction through Andrews, from MP 176.8 to MP 175.9, Andrews (MP 176.2), the final bridge over the river, a 45 mph speed restriction through Huntington, from MP 171.1 to MP 169.1, Huntington (MP 170.4), where there was once a flat crossing with the erstwhile Erie main line, a spur at Erie Stone (MP 168.6), the 15,685 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Mardenis (MP 165.8), where the line turns north-northeast, a spur at Builders Mart (MP 164.6), a spur at Elevator Track (MP 161.7), a detector at "Roanoke" (MP 161.7), a turn east-northeast, the 17,745 ft. siding (25 mph on the siding) at Roanoke (MP 157.3), where there is a 100-car spur on the south side for a GM plant, a 30 mph speed restriction through Fort Wayne, from MP 149.9 to MP 143.9, a spur at Mullinex (MP 149.8), and the connector (25 mph speed restriction) to the New Castle District (MP 149.5).

Double track, ABS, resumes (25 mph on the turnout) at Hugo (MP 149.2), where there is a flat crossing with the NS New Castle District, past the start of Yard Limits at MP 149.0, a turn northeast and then east, the Wabash station with the former PRR and its station alongside to the north, the acute-angled flat crossing and junction with the former PRR Fort Wayne Line at Mike (MP 146.0), a connection from the former PRR Piqua Yard trailing in on the south side,a 50 mph speed restriction from MP 143.9 to MP 140.1, Snake Track (MP 142.8), the location where the erstwhile Findlay, Fort Wayne & Western once left on the south side, the end of Yard Limits at MP 141.3, the junction with the former Nickel Plate line from Chicago, trailing in on the north side at East Wayne/New Haven (MP 140.9 and MP 140.7), and the junction with the former Nickel Plate line to Bellevue at NE (MP 140.5), where the Huntington District line reduces to single track, TC again.
