The 27,984 Charlotte Running Track, on the north side, starts at the crossovers at CP 373 (MP 373.2), where there is a spur heading away north and the line turns east-northeast with a spur trailing in from the southwest, and the line passes a bridge over a road, extra track on the south side, a signal bridge, a bridge over a road, and a rail-served industry on the south side, with the track trailing in.
The speed limit drops to 50-35 at MP 372.2, past a bridge over a road, an out-of-service rail bridge just to the south over the same road as a bridge over a road, a bridge over a road, an adjacent through truss bridge over the same road as a through truss bridge over a road, two lines once departed to the north, a bridge over a highway, a bridge over a road, and a through truss bridge over a road.
