Oba to Capreol

At the 5,670 ft. siding at Oba (MP 257.7), the former Algoma Central crosses at grade and has lines north to Hearst and south to Sault Ste. Marie. The single track, CTC, main line heads southeast, past a detector at MP 255.1, the 5,670 ft. siding at Neswabin (MP 249.2), the 7,260 ft. siding at Minnipuka (MP 239.4), a detector at MP 236.1, the 5,870 ft. siding at Dishnish (MP 232.2), the 5,780 ft. siding at Fire River (MP 2232.6), the 5,890 ft. siding at Argolis (MP 213.6), a detector at MP 208.1, the 5,980 ft. siding at Peterbell (MP 205.9), where it bridges the Missinaibi River, a turn to the east, east-southeast at the 5,640 ft. siding at Dunrankin (MP 194.8), a detector at MP 189.0, the 5,950 ft. siding at Agate (MP 186.4), Elsas (MP 183.2), where it crosses the Kapuskasing River and turns southeast again, the 5,970 ft. siding at Oatland (MP 176.5), the 5,970 ft. siding at Missonga (MP 166.0), a detector at MP 162.5, the 6,540 ft. siding at Shawmere (MP 158.2), a bridge across the Ivanhoe River, and the 6,050 ft. siding at Foleyet (MP 146.3, depot on north side, grade crossing just to its west), where it turns east-southeast.

The line turns southeast again at the 5,950 ft. siding on the south side at Singe Lake (MP 141.4), where the eponymous lake is alongside to the north, past a bridge over a river, Intermediate Signals, MP 138, a detector at MP 137.8 ("Ruel 137"), a dirt road grade crossing, a bridge across the Groundhog River, MP134, the 5,950 ft. siding on the south side at Kukatush (MP 133.2), where the east end is east of MP 133, a turn east-southeast past Intermediate Signals at MP 130.7, where the speed limit is 65-50,  the 7,280 ft. siding on the north side at Tionaga (MP 125.8), with a dirt road grade crossing, a spur from the north that once trailed in, and extra track on the north side, within the siding, east end MP 124.7, a detector at "Ruel 123", Intermediate Signals at MP 123.1, a road alongside to the north, a dirt road grade crossing, and south-southeast past the west end at MP 116.3 of  the 6,140 ft. siding on the south side at Gladwick (MP 115.6), Intermediate Signals at MP 114.1, a detector at MP 111.6 ("Ruel 111"), a river or lake on the north side, MP 108, and the west end, west of MP 106, of the 6,000 ft. siding on the south side at Stackpool (MP 105.4), east end east of MP 105, with propane tanks for the switch heaters at all siding ends, etc.

There are Intermediate Signals, a dirt road grade crossing, MP 102, a lake on the north side, MP 101, a lake on the north side, MP 100, a lake to the north, a detector at "Ruel 97", the 5,960 ft. siding on the north side, with extra track on the north side, at Bethnal (MP 95.5), a through girder bridge over a river, Intermediate Signals, MP 92, a lake to the north, a grade crossing, a bridge over a river, and the 6,180 ft. siding on the north side, with a west-facing spur and extra tack on the north side, and a grade crossing within the siding, at Gogama (MP 86.6), where it turns south past lakes on the north side and the south side, Intermediate Signals, a detector at MP 83.2 ("Ruel 83"), MP 82, a bridge over a river, and the 6,720 ft. siding on the north side, with extra track on the north side, at Makwa (MP 76.9), south-southeast past Intermediate Signals at MP 74.9, a detector at "Ruel 70", a grade crossing just west of the west end of the 5,970 ft. siding on the north side, with a spur trailing in from a sawmill on the north side, and extra track on the north side, at Ostrom (MP 68.6), Intermediate Signals at MP 66.x, and Westree (MP 64.3), where there is a flagstop and a watershed, with river to the north and west flowing north and rivers to the south and east flowing south.

The line turns south, past MP 64, a lake on the south side, the 6,920 ft. siding on the north side, with extra track on the north side, at Stupart (MP 59.3), Intermediate Signals at MP 57.3, where the speed limit is 55-50, south-southeast past a detector at MP 55.3 ("Ruel 55.3"), a lake on the north side, the west end west of MP 52 of the 6,170 ft. siding on the south side at Ruel (MP 51.6), east end MP 50.9, a bridge across a river, Intermediate Signals at MP 49.3, MP 48, a lake on the south side, a detector at "Ruel 46", just west of the depot on the north side at Felix (MP 45.x), a river alongside to the north, McKee's Camp (MP 45), the 5,970 ft. siding on the north side at Thorlake (MP 39.9), a detector at MP 36.3, a dirt track grade crossing (the first grade crossing in over 35 miles, from the west), the 6,500 ft. siding on the north side, with extra track on the north side, at LaForest (MP 30.3), a river on the north side, the 6,920 ft. siding on the north side, with extra track on the north side, at Raphoe (MP 19.5), a turn east-southeast, south-southwest, and then south, past a detector at MP 12.4, the 5,970 ft. siding at Milnet (MP 8.9), a bridge over a river, Intermediate Signals, MP 8, extra track on the east side, a dirt road grade crossing, a river alongside to the east, Dennis (MP 2.9), where two tracks start and the line turns east-southeast, a bridge over a river, and the yard at Capreol (MP 0.0), where the depot and one platform are on the south/west side, with a second platform between the tracks, and an eight track yard on the east/north side.

All communities "west of Capreol" have lumber or logging facilities, as the line traverses the North Woods.
